Router Factory Reset?

We had a couple of short power outages. Everything came back on, but my printer wouldn't work.

Checked printer
Reset printer
Rebooted printer.

Looked at my phone. IP address 192.168.1.xxx

What???

My router reset to factory defaults, including IP address and password!

Had to rebuild the settings from memory. Finally have the VPN to the office router working. What a pain!

what model?

This might be a good time to check for upgrades...

I keep info in a computer file on the router

I downloaded a backup of the config file after fixing. I had config files, but they were out of date...

Never had one go back to factory default after a power outage. That typically takes an extended outage or pressing that teeny tiny button on the back.

How old is it? The internal battery may have died.

Less than 2 years.
