You know that guy that cleans your windshield and then asks for $
It happened to my house! Kinda.
Somebody came thru the neighborhood and painted our curb addresses. I thought it was boy scouts. Nice job. Straight, bright, clean looking. Unsolicited. Dude just rang. my door bell. I grilled him. He got slammed when his job shut down. He was clean cut, and tidy. (His 2020 3/4 ton diesel truck was probably down the street). Faack. I gave him a $10. I saw him organizing his “wad” while walking up my driveway. He’s doing well! I really hope a Boy Scout doesn’t come and ring my door bell later. Hahaha. |
Common tweaker "profession".

We get flyers in my neighborhood, saying they'll be coming by and asking if we want our house number painted on the curb. Nope. Why? It's already on my house. Don't need to make it easier for people to find me.

You get glass cleaners in your hood, I get JV's and Mormons.

What would he do if you did not pay him?
|
I don't have a curb....or sidewalk for that matter. Guess he wouldn't make much $ around here.
|
The curb is technically city property I believe.
|
It’s been happening since there were curbs, paint, and hustlers.
Not the worst sales technique. |
Happened when I lived in Palmdale. Unsolicited, a dude paints the curb. Demands money from me. I tell him to pound sand/close door on him. He starts yelling outside. I open the door and tell him he has 5 seconds to be off my property before cops are called. ....he proceeds to run away. Never heard more about it.

We don't have curbs in my neighborhood, or sidewalks, or street lights.

10 bucks for straight numbers seems outrageous to me.... Who the hell paints straight numbers :D? |
