Mammogram

I like boobies.....just not connected to me. I developed a hard lump behind my left nipple. It is painful if I bump into things. I didn’t realize how many times my boob bumps into things. So, doc recommends a mammogram. Oh...the humiliation! Anyways, no cancer just old age.Doc put me on Tamoxifen. Side effects don’t look to good. Headaches, body aches, loss of hair, vision loss and loss of wood. Cure may be worse then the disease....where have I heard that one?

Had swelling in one armpit and had one done.
Better to know that there is nothing wrong rather than live with the uncertainty or die from something left unchecked.
Is the Tamoxifen precautionary at this point if there is no cancer?

Why in the hell did they put you on tamoxifen? I thought that was an estrogen blocker.

It is an Estrogen blocker. I guess I’m changing sides.
No cancer...just a dense mass. As explained by the Doctor, the medication is supposed to breakup the lump. If the side affects are as bad as advertised I’ll quit. I have enough body aches as it is.

I had a painful lump develop when I was in HS. Really sensitive/uncomfortable & kind of embarrassing at that age.
Turned out to be a cyst in the “breast tissue”. Lots of hot compresses and massaging. The yuck came out over time like some kind of giant pimple. 🥴

It sure was gross. Glad it wasn’t more serious.

Had another experience with swollen node in my armpit...painful to lift my arm like when raising your hand. Very observant pediatrician looked at all of the scratches on my hands and asked “do you have a new kitten”? Why yes! I love playing with it... Cat scratch fever. Round of antibiotics and all was well.
No more “wrestling” with the kitten.

Same here occasionally.

Lymph nodes are the proverbial 'canary in the coal mine' with respect to onset of sickness.
They use a secret bypass corridor in addition to the blood vessels(artery/vein) we know about, circulating WBCs and keeping the immune system strong.
VitaminC, Zinc, and water.

Located in armpits, neck, groin.

So the side effects are roughly the same as getting older?

Glad it was nothing serious btw. It's funny how you never relate "breast cancer "with men but it seems to be somewhat common and I've even viewed ads addressing it for men and women.

Better safe than sorry. My doc told my wife and myself that we should wash each other once every couple of months. Get each other nice and soapy and rub everywhere slowly with a bit a pressure. I looked and my wife let out a "woohoo".

Now I gotta wash coffee off my laptop!

Any chance you could get your doc to call my wife?

Lol... This is why I drop by here in the morning!

Swelling in the pit turned out to be caused by previous shoulder and soft tissue damage.
I did have a MRI done on the area and was told that the lymph nodes were not the cause of the swelling. I was worried about it.

Don't google swollen armpit for information, it will scare the hell out of ya.

One of our esteemed members, Chip Evaul, died a year after a change in his nipple developed where it kinda sunk.

Took one pill yesterday and no more for me. Instant achiness and I had a terrible nights sleep. I’m going to ask the Doc about possible surgery.

Yes... a surprising number of men die from breast cancer.

Lump, get it checked.

I have a consultation with a plastic surgeon next week. My boobie has become too dam sensitive.
I never realized how many times I bump it during the day.
