"We're beginning to approach the ceiling for what the healthcare system can handle," Dr Tegnell told a news conference.

"Together, as during the spring, we can push down this curve and avoid the strain on healthcare."

That's the same BS that didn't happen last time. Fool me once...

Here is a graph of the coronavirus test given each day:

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1603571237.jpg

You will notice that it shows a steady increase in the number of tests given.

Here is the a of the ratio of daily new cases to new tests given:

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1603571339.jpg

You will notice that the number of positive cases for tests given has been on a long downward trend. Conclusion: In the United States at least, if testing were held at constant level, we would be appearing to have FEWER cases. Instead, we are drastically increasing testing for the purpose of finding more cases to report. This in turn is being used to justify draconian, unconstitutional, and illegal restrictions on our lives.

Deaths have been measured consistently wrong, but consistently.

"Cases" have seen their measurement increase dramatically. In fact, their increase more than accounts for the increase in detection. (For example, they have to increase the amount of testing by 6% to see an increase in testing by 4%.)

Unfortunately covid cases are rising again in the larger cities. I think we are in for a bad winter.
Still very few children however that need hospital treatment. Its really very perplexing this corona bug. The kindergartens and schools schould be overwhelmed but we see very few infections. In fact, given the general precautions in society, we see much less overall infections with kids. Being a pediatrician is actually easier than normal.

Sweden is the new China

The Swedish COVID-19 Response Is a Disaster.

the infection rate of those teaching in classrooms was 60% higher than those teaching online—

compared to Finland, ....Sweden had seven times as many children per capita treated in the ICU during that time period.

Sweden and the U.S.
highest overall mortality rates that failed to rapidly reduce those numbers as the pandemic progressed.

Sweden has often had among the lowest test rates in Europe.

As of mid-August, herd immunity was still “nowhere in sight,”
, herd immunity to an infectious disease has never been achieved without a vaccine.

Hospital system is a disaster
Only 13% of the elderly residents who died with COVID-19 during the spring received hospital care,
Many were reportedly denied care
Those with special needs could not receive oxygen or hospitalization
More than 100 people reported they were not allowed to come to hospital.
Her husband Cristian brought her to an unnamed hospital in Stockholm, but were told it was full and sent home, where Lucero’s health deteriorated

State-mandated stay-at-home orders and public mask mandates coupled with case investigations with contact tracing contributed to an 82% reduction in COVID-19 incidence, 88% reduction in hospitalizations, and 100% reduction in mortality in Delaware during late April–June.
