Audi Lightning Bolt and the Cops

So this is pretty damm funny.
On Sunday, i get the flashing lights on the AC xpressway.
I know I am guilty of something, because I stupidly answered the phone on the seat, just as I approached the cop....I was doing 85 after slowing a bit, but so was he, and most of traffic.
I am not about to stop on this not -an -auto Strada, because there is no shoulder.
I’m not sure what he expected, or I did I care.
I just let him know I saw him, and I drove another 1/2 mile to an exit, and another 1/4 mile until I found a pull off spot.
He followed along...

I confessed immediately to picking up the phone, and he informed me that approaching him at 90 plus was the problem.
I suggested that I was following his pace.85
He told me I overtook him at a much higher speed...90 plus in a 65
I told him that I could not argue with that, either.

As far as cops go, he was cool.
The only odd thing was his first question..is this car new ?
I just shrugged and said, not really, it’s an ‘2012.
He looked at dash, and said...looks new...and he asked for the registration.
There are plenty of small chips on the back, and old decals on the window. ..not new

I thought it was a trick cop question, while I sat there as he was writing me up.

I got a $55.00 no points ticket, thanked the cop, and he thanked me for driving to a safe spot.
I wondered why anyone would risk their safety and stop on demand , but I didn’t!to say it. I should have.
It was the next day when I walked around back saw the car, and realized he was watching my rear as he followed , and spent his life looking at the ass end of cars. ..and thought if he had not seen it, it was something new.
Laughed my ass off when I got it.

I have only been pulled over once since 1978. It was in my 1985 911 and it was still full daylight. Speed limit of 70 and I might have been going 72 or 73. Cop pulls in behind me and asks if this is my car. I looked puzzled and reply yes sir. He asked how long I have had it, and I said I bought in it 1995 and started doing the math in my head. Before I had finished he said there was a late model Porsche reported stolen and this matched the description. I replied, sir, this is a 1985 model year. He was amazed and I am sure had run the tags and the insurance card says right on it 1985 911.

He admired my car and sent me on my way with nothing but a "drive safely."

I have never been pulled over in my El Camino in the last 29 years and well over 300,000 miles.

The Audi has hands free, but not linked to new IPhone 12 yet.
I replaced sat module with a German module that has now streams via Bluetooth and my Siri is talking to me through that.
She is way smarter than the old Siri. And fast.
I have to get her linked to the car
I don’t answer the phone , it was just sitting in the seat and so new and shiny .
Plus the Dead may or may not have been streaming with volume on 11
I may not have been on my way back after a stop at the Pa State Sponsored weed store
