Stunning $700K Gunther Werks 400R

Sources describe it as the "hardest of hardcore."

Quote:
Much of this intensity stems from GW's stunningly extensive use of carbon fiber. Every exterior panel you can see, and many you can't, are made of the woven stuff. Yes, that includes that panel. And that one. Uh-huh, the hood as well. Yup, even the roof. According to GW, only the structural componentry underneath all this weave remains steel, as do the doors' crash bars. Inside, every surface that isn't upholstered or trimmed in aluminum is glossy carbon fiber, including the empty space in the rear of the cabin where seats used to be. Even the floor panels and tight bucket seats are carbon, the weave perfect and micron tight.

Anything costing $700K better be "stunning"...

Bargain priced right between the 600K Singer and the 800K RUF GTR all carbon fiber 911.

I guess there is a butt for that seat, but I can't ever imagine spending that much money on any car. They did not send me a marketing brochure, so I guess I am not on the marketing list.

If you were a billionaire it wouldn't seem like that big a deal.

I remember years ago as I was progressing through jobs. I switched from one job where I was making squat, to another job where I was W2 contract getting paid by the hour at a place that was coming out of bankruptcy. We were hired in to clean up the network at a place that had been left in a shambles by the previous crew. We were OK to work up to 60hrs/wk. I did, and that was the first time that I saw a $5k Net. check for 2 weeks. I thought that was fantastic. I was hanging out with a manager from another group in the same place. He had been there longer and was familiar with the C-level execs that had been brought in to bring the place out of bankruptcy. He told me that there was a guy that ended up billing for over 2400 hours and was making $580/hr for part of the year and then $620/hr for the rest of the year. I suspect that guy may have had a check where the take-home portion for 2 weeks was $50,000. It's still hard for me to fathom a two week paycheck that could go out and buy a new car with change left over. That guy might not be the target for a car that costs $700k, but he might be the target for a 911TT or a 911 GT3.

I know there are people that spend more than that on a watch. The point is those headlights look like something a 18 year old ordered for his Honda Accord.

It is a little weird to have so many pics that are of the "show room" or the room where you pic out paint colors or fabric/leather colors/textures, etc....

Yeah, when the BMW first came out with the "angel eyes" (I think that's what they are called), I remember thinking "that's kind of cool." The problem is that you can now outfit any and every car with some form of them, whether it's a pickup truck or a civic or whatever. By the time everyone has them, IMO, they are no longer cool, and I would pay extra to NOT have them.

Yep, 1999 civic.

987 on ebay

How about something for the El Camino?!?
You know you want some!

I like the car and really like how the paint looks. Not sure if it's how flawless it appears or the pastel color.

With respect to headlight rings, I do remember a before my time thread about gauge lights. A guy had installed really, really bright ones, maybe even red, and Early_S_Man just eviscerated the poor fellow. No prisoners. It was classic.

So the marketing department comes up with a stupid name like "Angel Eyes" and sell it. Just my opinion that could be devil eyes or just simply ugly headlights.

Then again lots of people don't like the sugar scoops on my 85 911 and that bothers me almost as much as some 3/4 million dollar car's headlights, or the opinion of some professional athlete. Not even a measurable amount.

But the "El Glenmino" NEEDS Angel eyes! I think some folks may call them "halo" as well.
