RWebb 11-03-2020 01:10 PM

I bought a 10 mm Ko-ken nut grip in 1/4" drive

these are "extra" for me since I have Hazet and SnapOff - some from the 1970s

Sockets are important! Got some cortisone injected in my shoulder socket today.

RNajarian 11-03-2020 01:39 PM

That looks like a quality socket. I’m not familiar with Ko-Ken..”

Ah, yes. The good ol' Rad and Fluoro room.
Looks fairly new-ish. Haven't worked on one of those in more than 15 years.
It's the first type of Diagnostic Imaging system I worked on way back in '97.
That table can pivot to vertical and the patient essentially just stands on a foot board.

How's the shoulder?

RWebb 11-03-2020 03:45 PM

Shaun - sorry to hear & hope it helps!

Ko-Ken is Japanese and makes nothing but sockets and ratchets, etc. - no wrenches. It is IIRC family run and the founder went to the US and worked for either Henry Ford or a Ford dealership. As usual when the Japanese get into something, they really work it hard (where is rusnack BTW?). Nepros makes even nicer ratchets, and another one to keep an eye on is the Zeal line. I bet Snappy and Hazet will do fine but the two Japanese co.s seem to be far above the protos and gedores of the world.

The socket above is a nut-grip type. I did photo stacking to keep it all in focus. The ring around the circumference is a spring that holds those little ball bearings in, and holds them tight to the nut. Ingenious. Effective. Well worth the not very expensive cost.

searchup their web site: Ko-ken

vash woulda done that

This new Japanese technology holds your nuts gently without dropping them and without too much force...

Hey Don, did you operate them or install or repair them? or?

Shoulder was hurting like hell earlier but it's starting to settle down. Cortisone might be working or maybe it's the milk stouts. hard to say but I need another sip. :)

Shaun SmileWavy

I install, calibrate, perform regularly scheduled maintenance, and repair.
Only thing I've ever imaged on any machine I've touched is a phantom used for calibration or troubleshooting.

Most states require a license to image people.

And working on that table is like working on a tractor. And not necessarily cleaner.
