Long Beach made it to 86º by 1 pm. 51 at sunrise. That's a big swing.

The same chit hit us earlier...about 11 A.M. I would venture a guess that initial gusts were over 60 MPH, with pea sized hail, and then blinding rain. It was all I could do to close the porch door, it burst open and hit me in the head while I was holding it, thought I was bleeding !

I have watched football the rest of the day listening to the wind whistle through our pine trees. I walked to the barn, and noticed no leaves remaining in our yard, they were all blown into the next county.

We got that later in the day. The lights started flickering and I started thinking about how long the freezers full of food would last.

Breaking News! Hundreds of giant fans in NW OH responsible for high winds. More on this at 9!

cabmandone 11-16-2020 02:52 AM

"Blue Creek Wind Farm is an onshore wind farm located in Van Wert and Paulding Counties, north-west Ohio,"
See! They're not even trying to hide it! It's right there in their name "wind farm"!!!
Here's a pic of the giant fans! I'll be contacting them about replacing my pool cover!http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1605527513.jpg

Oregon monsoon season. November can be wet. We will see sun about June...maybe.

red-beard 11-16-2020 03:22 AM

Brrrrrrrr. Air temp is 49. Pool is down to 77. I kicked the pool heater on this morning.

EDIT: It was 45 degrees. Damn my aging eyes.

Pool was 78F when I did my laps...

Warmed up the car for me lady this morning, 39F at 7:15am CST, 160 miles east of Red Beard. Supposed to rise to 75F and sunny all day.

Terrible, winds last night were gusting to 90 to 100 kPH, we lost power for about 11/2 hours at
around 5pm last night and then for a while again during the night.Temp is around 5 Celsius.
My son lives about 4 miles away and whatever took our power out at 5pm took down a bunch
Of trees near him and took down 5 hydro poles. 22 hours later they are still out of power and it’s
Going below freezing tonight, luckily he burns wood as well and has a generator.

Same thing here (last night). Most windy I ever seen since we move here in 1996.

Still pretty windy today.

The wind here finally let up early this morning. My UPS kept cycling on and off all night, apparently under voltages because we didn't completely lose power.
It was bizarre. The sky would completely clear for a few minutes and then the clouds would clamp down. I've never seen rain, hail, and snow all within a 3 hour period in Ohio. The only time I've seen weather like that was in northern Denmark, and they say it happens all the time there.

I was salmon fishing up in Michigan on the big Manistee river several years ago. I sat through rain, snow, hail and finally sun coming out and melting the ice balls all in the course of about 2 hours. I had a bottle of Wild Turkey 101 to keep me safe and warm. Remember, if it gets bad out... Wild Turkey 101... it'll make ya not care as much.

Strange weather here. Near freezing at night last week & highs in the forties, then a warm up startiing Saturday. Last night only down to 57 and up to 84 today.

I'll be in my hunting shack in Defiance most of the time and they frown on drinking and gun use.... for some reason..
