A two hit fight. One hit the chin, the other hit the floor.

One of my friends went to a Tyson fight with a buddy. They splurged and decided to get close up seats. He said everyoene was standing for the bell and as he looked down to make sure his butt was aligned to the seat the fight was over. He said if he knew the fight was so short he could have spent that money on drinks at the bar and had more fun.

That day, my service manager sprung for a huge (projection) TV which at the time was the s**t, threw a man party with top shelf booze, had it catered, etc. If I remember he said that a few guys weren't even seated when the fight was over!

stevej37 11-16-2020 01:22 PM

The guy knocked down....his legs were still twitching, but that's about it.

I remember the Tyson vs Bone Crusher Smith fight. It looked like BCS had money riding on being able to survive a certain number of rounds.

Man. Looked like a decent pop but not a game ending hit. You’d think a trained opponent could take a few shots like that but I guess not...

Either took a dive or was a LOT more solid of a hit than it looked like from the clip.

cabmandone 11-16-2020 02:57 PM

Well that's a relief! I thought someone had talked to my wife.

ramonesfreak 11-16-2020 03:36 PM

i thought this was gonna be about colonoscopies

Here it is in slo-mo

Is there a minimum number of tats required to be an MMA "fighter" these days?

Ouch.

Tagged him so hard he knew his opponent was gone and made an attempt to soften his fall.

Porsche-O-Phile 11-16-2020 07:28 PM

Yep the second camera angle ans slow motion video really shows it. Wasn’t clear in the first one but yea that was a “one and done”.

flatbutt 11-17-2020 04:18 AM

Bad enough to get done in 3 seconds but by a guy with a man bun too!

GH85Carrera 11-17-2020 04:43 AM

That guy goes down like the henchmen in a James Bond movie. The head bad guy takes 15 minutes to subdue. but the nameless henchmen go down with one quick punch.

That dude looks like he's an MS-13 gangbanger.

I'm not a fighter, but my understanding of a knock out is that if you get caught just right(wrong) there's not much to be done.

Which is actually pretty cool. I don't watch a lot of fighting, but I've watched a bunch of youtube vids of MMA stuff, and it seems like 99% of the time, after the guy is out cold, they want to keep pounding away at his face. This guy knew he was going out, and and was done. That's how it should be done.

Yep, if the shot twists the head just right, it momentarily cuts off the blood supply to the brain and down you go.

I saw him reach out for the guy’s shoulder but there was nothing to grab onto. One of my friends dropped a guy outside a Vikings game once and managed to grab the sleeve of his jacket and set him down easy. Heads hitting concrete is even worse than fists hitting jaws...people die all the time from it. :(

Being the same age as you guys, I agree that it makes them look thuggish but tats are also so common these days that they don’t mean much. They might be great guys.

Oh, I know, but you know me - just a grumpy old fart. ;)

I understand that it has become a part of the "package" in these kinds of sports. To the point where the next real bad ass will be completely tat-free. That'll scare the schitt outa 'em...

I also wonder when the first bright young man is going to figure out he can monetize those tats. You know, sponsor logos, like drivers' suits...
