Old West

This picture may have been posted. The Pat Garrett thread got me thinking. Picture says 1883, but at that time some of these guys would not have been there. However, someone who knows the town says it had to be 1886 which would allow them to gather. You decide, there is a great debate on the net about the authenticity. Wyatt Earp, Teddy Rosevelt, Doc Holiday, Morgan Earp, Liver Eating Johnson (?!), Butch Cassiday, Sundance Kid, Bat Masterson, Judge Roy Bean, etc |
Liver Eating aka Jeremiah Johnson.

Wow... Looking at each one, seems legit to me.
Do we know why they got together? Did someone call for the meeting or were they all in the same town because of an event? |
Theory is a railroad spur opening nearby. The net is full of the pros and the cons. Fascinating. I first saw the picture in a bar in Leadville. Somehow I hope its true
|
If it was available... I'd get a big print and frame it for my man cave.
|
Joe Biden, third from the right.;)
Come on it's a joke. |
Figures that someone would take and old photo and PARF it. Come on guys. Take this crap elsewhere
|
Deleted. I couldn't pass it up.
|
Virgil Earp is a couple miles from my house. I pass his grave often.

Thanks Tim.

In 1883 Butch and Sundance would have been 16 and 17. Even in 1886 they would have been 19 and 20.

IIRC, that pic has been debunked in that some or most of the characters depicted are not who they are claimed to be.
For example, Morgan Earp (April 24, 1851 – March 18, 1882) was killed in Tucson over a year before that pic was reportedly taken. It's still a cool story and picture though. |
