Honda Fit recall
A few months ago, Honda announced a recall for all 2009-2011 Fits that are owned in the 'rust belt states'. The coating on the shafts was not correct and it could lead to an axle snapping.
They needed some time to stock enough axles for the recall. I heard others had done theirs lately so I called the Honda dealer yesterday about the recall. They had my vin on file and said they had an opening at 9am today for the fix. (The Dealer is thirty miles from my home) 20 minutes after dropping it off..I get a text saying I can pick it up. I figured that they would tell me that mine didn't need replacing after inspecting them. (because it's a min 2 hr fix) I get there and the lady service tech tells me that they need to re-schedule my car because they didn't have the correct parts in today. I was kinda upset, and told her that was my reason for calling and asking if they were ready. She answered...."We assumed your car was an auto/tranny...we don't hardly ever see a m/t in here for service" GRRRR! apparently the axles for an auto/tranny are different from an m/t ![]()

Yep, not surprising.
That's a real PITA. It's too bad you didn't have a loaner car where you could have just said, I'll be back with your car when you're done with mine. Having the manual tranny is probably the only way that car isn't a total snooze, I would imagine.

FWIW, I credit my daughter's (maybe 2015?) FIT for saving her life. Pretty bad accident, she was fine.

I was surprised when I bought the thing on how many air bags it has. Not sure but I believe eight or nine.

It really is a peppy, fun to drive car. Since I put the Sprint Throttle controller on it..I drive it like a stoplight racer!

Yes. Front end, totaled(her fault). She was looking at another car, I forget what, but I saw the safety ratings for the Fit were much better. And My Honda Pilot has been so reliable, I suggested she test drive the FIT. Ended up buying it.
She replaced it with another.
