Customer stopped by with his Taycan

Really beautiful car, it is to my eye much nicer in person. He absolutely loves it. Wish it weren't in a house shadow, the green is beautiful in the sun.

It is a great car but don’t care for how the name was derived.

I've seen a couple/few in person. I like them. I'm not the target market, but if I was, I'd be looking. I could see having something like that for cruising with the missus and then a GT3 or Turbo for the rest of the time.

+1 on the car.

They packed them in near Boston.

JFK's birthplace is the light blue house 45 degrees forward off the right front fender of the SUV. An early McMansion in Brookline which is just a little closer than Shaun's shop in Watertown vs downtown. Even old man Kennedy's street looks tight.

50% of people in this country live closer together than that, with less space, in big coastal cities.

Not for me either but some bees like the fields, others like being in the hive.

when those houses were built they were a huge upgrade over the tenements

Baz 11-24-2020 05:45 PM

Looks a little like a Corvette or something......

onewhippedpuppy 11-24-2020 05:49 PM

I saw one on the street, they definitely look better in person than pictures.

Noah930 11-24-2020 07:19 PM

I'd totally be into it, if they weren't $130K.

$130K. cough, splutter...

I'd hate to think what it would cost if you phoned the AAA man and said "I've got a flat battery, can you bring out a new one please."

Agree with both. Never seen one (even a photo) before. Seems a little odd to be so swoopy and have 4 doors though. Maybe I am stuck (in my head0 with either a box on wheels with a big engine like a Cayenne TT or a 2-door sports car.

We took our 991 in for service last week and they gave me a 4S as a loaner! Had 1900 miles on it. They said they were (for now) the only dealer in the U.S. that had a Taycan in their loaner fleet. Have to admit I was VERY impressed. Stupid fast. Weird only hearing the tires and wind while accelerating like a banshee. Someday I could see one in the garage. The range was only 250 miles on a full charge. They’d have to double that if I were to have an interest.

LEAKYSEALS951 11-24-2020 09:02 PM

I've followed two from behind, trying to figure out if it was a new panamera or taycan.

First impression "wow, the ass ends of panamera's have really come a long ways." They really do look better (from behind) than in the pics. The rear 3/4 angle( rear quarter windows/roofline) is what the panamera should have been all along.

I had to laugh when I saw the front end ninja turtle reference though!

Bill Douglas 11-24-2020 09:14 PM

Definitely the way of the future. But I for one, will have to be dragged kicking and screaming into that bit of the future.

However... I'd love to have a brand new Nissan Leaf as a grocery getter.

Except for the “only dealer with a loaner ” part (they lied)
Porsche is loaded with cars
As for the range, I thought about just how many times I drove over 250 -300 miles.
Like most, the Taycan won’t be your only car in the household.
Was that the nicest interior you ever saw ...tight....?

That green is an acquired taste.
Volcano is the tits.
