Any of you like the Lambo Espada?
As much as I like pure 2 seater sports cars, I feel Grand Tourers are a more appealing from weight distribution, overall size, comfort and being even practical.
To me the Espada embodies this perfectly combined with handsome styling. I always regret not getting into one in the early 2000s when they were $25k to $30k cars. I'm guilty (I guess along with others) thinking they would remain cheap forever. They are floating away from my reach, but will always be extremely fond of them. Any of you guys or gals own one or have experience? https://bringatrailer.com/wp-content...size=620%2C387 https://bringatrailer.com/wp-content...size=620%2C365 |
Nothing to contribute.
But here's a side view: https://images.opumo.com/wordpress/w...O-Banner-3.jpg |

One of those sat in a lot in my area for a long time years ago. One day it disappeared. Didn't know what it was at the time other than "one of those old front engine Lamborghinis".
Here's another really nice local one. https://hosting.photobucket.com/albu...pscx98rrms.jpg |
front good
side bad |
There was one in a showroom in a domestic car dealership years ago (nor cal). Whenever I drove through, I would stop and ogle... Orange with a darker tan (e.g. saddle?) leather interior.
Though a little out-of-proportion from the side, it was just gorgeous front and rear. I think it would be on a short list of two door cars where the rear passenger could actually see out of a window. I thought it was beautiful, still feel that way. angela |

I was at the bottom of a hill leading up to our house, hitchhiking home when I was in 9th-10th grade. I was with a friend who's mom came down to go to the grocery store and he said "we can give you a ride home after we to to Safeway if you want." I said, "no thanks, there's my ride coming up now." It was an Espada and it pulled up to pick me up. My friend's jaw was hanging down as he watched in amazement. The driver was Ed Daly, the owner of World Airways, who lived a couple of blocks away from us.

I always liked the Jarama. I almost bought one in 2012 before they went crazy

More of a Jalpa fan.

I had always loved the Espada from the first time I read about them. I saw one in the late '70s on the highway. There have been some very enjoyable episodes on Harry's Garage and Tyrrell's Workshop dealing with them.

are we now discussing the most attractive Italian 4 seater of the 1960s?

The Espada is just odd looking to me.
Used to know a guy who had a Jalpa. That looked a lot better. |
They are a cool car and would definitely be the only one on your street. I would prefer a Maserati Bora or an Alfa Montreal from that era.

Yes I've seen Harry's and Tyrell's videos, all great and Jay Leno has a good piece on his as well.
I'm a big fan of the Jalpa, Ghibli, Bora and Montreal...great cars as well. But the Espada get the nod for me. |
Been watching Ian and Harry on Youtube eh? :-)
Personally I like the look of them. It was interesting watching Ian's engine build when we went over how de-tuned the Espada's V12 was vs. the Miura. |
