"VASH" inspired question.......

So I love the types of questions our fellow pelican "VASH" asks........

Left of center, funny, quirky and thought provoking.......................

So I have one.....

Roscoe P. Coltrain.................................. remember him?

What does the P stand for ?

masraum 12-03-2020 09:33 AM

ROFLMAO.

I remember that his deputy, Enos, got his own spin off show where he went to the city and schooled his citified partner on the ways of country boys.

PRE-H20 12-03-2020 09:35 AM

Is there another way to say it?

You've gotta include the silly giggle at the end too.

Vash is "left of center"!?!

He is now dead to me:cool:

Purvis, BTW. Didn't have to do a search. That was the last name of my middle sisters first husband...related to Melvin Purvis.

vash 12-03-2020 10:33 AM

i would have asked it as:

"who's got the P?"

:D

Skytrooper 12-03-2020 10:41 AM

What about Buford T. Justice ?

asphaltgambler 12-03-2020 10:47 AM

If you place the tip left of center on the cue ball...

That guy was a great addition to Live and Let Die AND Man with the Golden Gun (civilian on vacation in SE Asia).

But I'm not sure I like JW Pepper more than Bufford T Justice. Sum'bich!

Cooter (Ben Jones) had a huge farm near the foothills of the Blue Ridge @1 hour west of where I live now. He stayed there a lot from what I know. His Son 'Walker' Jones is a very successful local attorney in Warrenton, Va. with a firm of the same name. I used them a fair bit in the late 80's and early 90's and never knew that's who it was owned by.

Wow, that's crazy. I'm guessing his "style" was a bit different as a congressman.

asphaltgambler 12-04-2020 05:57 AM

Yes I did know he was in politics, thinkin he ran for local position in my area some time ago, but didn't win. He would host annual Duke Fest at his property at this little ' shack's beside Rt. 29 west just before hitting the mountains.

dyhunter 12-04-2020 06:05 AM

When I lived in Charlottesville my little sister came to visit. Knowing she was a huge Dukes of Hazard fan I planned a trip to that shack off 29. They had a general Lee out front. He happened to be there that day and we had are picture taken with him. He was very nice but still played the Cooter role. It made her Summer!

Fast Freddy 944 12-04-2020 06:59 AM

The Dukes? Now that was a fun series! Chips, the Dukes, Knight Rider, Yeup we had it all back in the day, now Tv and cable has gone down the crapper.<iframe width="613" height="345" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/2h_YNfNj8JQ" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe><iframe width="613" height="345" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/lPhbzZ773HY" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

I had DoH matchbox/hotwheels car, plastic model, and the 45 of the theme song that I then recorded onto a cassette.

I never saw the remake movie a few years ago. It didn't look very good.
