All I can think of when I see that commercial is

"Who buys not one, but two $40k+ vehicles without even discussing it with their spouse first?"

I could see it if you were rich enough that $80k was under the threshold of making a difference, but if that was the case then why not buy something better.

Had the same thought. But I bet those are closer to $80k each than $40k.

The price of testicles has gone up! Are y'all complaining about commercials not being real... for real :)?

This, I have often wondered just how many people in the country buy a new car for their spouse as a surprise gift. No doubt millions of vehicles are bought as gifts, but I suspect most have the input of the recipient before the purchase.

Mercedes, and Lexus are both big advertisers and have commercials with the huge bow on top of the car. I simply can't imagine buying a car for my wife like a Mercedes and not have her input. Actually, I can't imaging buying her any gift of over a grand without her input. I know I am not the typical consumer so maybe I am just clueless once again.

I suspect more 16 year olds get cars as gifts and I see that as a mistake for most kids. But I have no kids, therefore I am the expert on kids.

Just the same old aspirational goal to make us feel like failures unless we fall for it.

RESISTANCE IS NOT FUTILE!

Every year it's the newest "Lexus December to Remember" commercial and every year when I see it I chuckle and think "yeah, and the January you wished you could forget when you get the loan payment book!".:D

I always liked this commercial. Still wouldn't buy one but appreciate the humor.

You can see the hood buckle up when it hit the wall. It exits and all straight again.

That's just an artifact from the camera. Happened all the time on the Dukes of Hazzard as well.
