I can pass just one more before my exit...
It'll save me 1-2 seconds.

Camaro.....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! !!
|
Lucky he didn't take out anyone else in the process.
|
Bad horsepower to IQ ratio...
|
Sometimes, you've just got to keep going and turn around.
I suspect that was a scary, and expensive lesson. It could have been much worse. |

People buy a Sport car and all of a sudden they thing they are a Sport Car driver. We had this discussion last night. It was cigar night. Weird!

There are entirely too many idiots on the road. He deserves all of that damage and luckily some innocent driver was not involved.
|
Wow... I wonder if the driver was hurt when the door pushed in and rearwards.
It would be all too easy to have your arm in the wrong place. |
Another few feet farther and he would have pulled a Grosjean.
|
It's amazing to me, that the collision didn't put the Camaro into a spin.

Modern traction/stability control?

Well when the car weighs 3,400 pounds (more than some SUVs) it’s going to be a bit more stable. Newton’s First Law of Motion and all that... Most newer cars are PIGS, the Camaro especially so - it’s huge and it’s not light.

Are you sure that wasn't Abraham Lincoln or maybe Mark Twain? :D |
Also....I think the guy with the dash-cam hit/ran over a big chunk of the Camaro's front end or fender.

It looks like the driver did not initially judge how much to turn the wheel to clear the barrier. The car was turned at a greater angle nearing the barrier and it responded, but it was too late. |

The Grosjean. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...s/thinkerg.gif |
If he had a bigger motor, he would have made it.
Turbo ?? |
^^^ Concrete beats sheet metal any day.

i cant see what is the end treatment on that barrier. it was metal? |
I'm surprised that the DOT doesn't require a post or a tower where the concrete division is.
Might be hard to see the actual separation. Still no excuse for the driver trying to pass when he shouldn't have. |

Lots of damage IMO. That car would be a write off... And I'd bet the driver was hurt :(

I agree. That front end and drivers side is toast. Expensive lesson.

That'll buff right out. Of the barrier, that is. Not the car.
|
I wonder what the impact resistance is for that type barrier on a highway? I can only imagine at speed, you’re not going to walk away. Would barrels of water (with reliefs) or some other substance be batter?
|
Fess up, guys. You'd have loved it more if the car had been a Mustang.
|
Just turn that into one of those lambo doors.
