What else you got? Self righteous isn’t very scary. Too bad I can interpret data and charts.

Ziggythecat 12-13-2020 03:55 PM

We have COVID deniers, who see their job as proving no Covid deaths were due to Covid

Same group has difficulty with elections, as well

Projecting again, eh.

Painting with a broad brush always makes a mess. I don’t deny CV but I do object to the illegal government actions that thus far have totally failed to make any meaningful difference but have succeeded in decimating the lives of millions. I also object to the blatant misrepresentation of data and outright lies on the part of politicians and public health officials.

Hey I’m not the one who didn’t bother to do my research. Sorry somebody called you out, that never seems to sit well with you.

pavulon 12-13-2020 04:21 PM

Matt, we get it. You see yourself as omniscient. Not sure why you bother with those that do the things you're writing about but that seems to be part of your affliction. Good luck to you in your keyboard quests. Now, kindly piss off.

Such a weak strawman attempt...

Maybe try reading the thread this time, and try again.

Or, just remain in the group of low-info types that relies on (and never reads past) the sensationalist/fear-mongering headlines, and then are compelled to knee-jerk regurgitations. ;)

So here’s the fundamental disconnect - you don’t get to tell me what to do. This would apply to one of my primary arguments on this topic as well, just because you are arrogant enough to think you know what is best for me, you don’t have the right to direct my life. So you enjoy living in fear and I’ll continue living my life. By the way the first sign of a weak argument is resorting to personal attacks.

Another scarecrow builder I see...

I assume that you can comprehend the law of unintended consequences and "connect the dots" between Covid and increased instances of depression, suicide, homicide, homicide/suicide, alcoholism, drug overdoses, excess deaths/illness of those too afraid to go to the hospital, and all other effects of prolonged impediments to societal interaction, etc.

Just as you should assume that others can comprehend the seriousness of this illness, and the various complications and variables that can magnify its severity/lethality.

The difference is that the policies and non-factual fear-mongering that contributed to the former, still hasn't/won't prevent the latter.

Oh, come on. You've posted on a bunch of Covid threads in PARF. At least a half a dozen in the last month alone.

You seem to have a burr up your ass about Covid.

Just caught on the thread, no dogs in that fight, but it's true that these days nobody seems to be dying of anything other than Covid anymore. Good news for cancers, heart attacks etc...

The fact is the numbers in the media conflate everything together for scary headlines. Trying to get an accurate breakdown of non covid deaths or no-comorbidities death, or "was gonna die within a week anyway and covid just sped it up" deaths. Impossible. Apparently in nobody's interest - you might be less scared..

I work at a really big university/hospital group, and I see internal numbers or ICU, testing, deaths. Granted I don't do regression analysis on those, I just read them weekly, but I have not seen anyone at our locations dying of Covid that wasn't in seriously bad shape before. I'm sure there are... I'm just saying it's very difficult to get accurate properly broken down data, and fear mongering seems to be in the best interest of some groups for sure.

Our doctors are no longer scared of Covid, they know how to keep you alive now - they are scared because many people don't come in to treat their heart and cancer (etc) conditions right now for fear of covid, and presumably there will be more deaths from that, and in turn these could be attributed to Covid if they happen to catch it on top of not treating their progressing cancers or whatever. Catch 22. Fear mongering wins.

Now I'm not sure if fear mongering is being done to make $ for pharmaceutical groups or because the general population is so stupid they would not even wash hand otherwise. Both probably.

Don't know if these have been mentioned, but here are a couple of fun facts I just heard about today.....

World Coronavirus Deaths Pass One Million, U.S. Accounts for 20 Percent

The U.S. has 4% of the world's population but 25% of the world's COVID-19 cases.

Really? Show us, show all of those Covid related posts of mine. I have trouble finding even one which is actually Covid related, vs. just a post in a Covid thread. I don't talk about masks, I don't talk about lockdowns, I don't talk about government interference, and don't talk about conspiracies related to the virus.
I usually am asking someone to show us where in the heck they pulled some fact or figure from.

Burr up my ass? Are you sure you're thinking of me and not someone else? Because, as far as you can tell, you don't know the first thing about me and how I feel about it, since I don't talk about it.

It's not fear mongering when people you know (or take care of) die from it. The latest for me are a husband (62 yo) and his wife (57yo) whom I worked with. Each died a few days apart and both were working the week prior. Both died on ventilators. I'm not afraid of it or I couldn't go to work. But I do have a lot of respect for what it can do to people. Deebo may have died from a reinfection or a pulmonary embolism or pneumonia or something else. We'll see. But that changes nothing about what has happened to an extraordinary number of people in terms of both morbidity and mortality.

with the 4-5 angry men contributors here i can not believe this has not been moved to PARF yet. im not here often enough to know for sure but OWP's vitriol usually gets even the most innocent thread moved.

why is he so angry all the time?
