GO NAVY, BEAT ARMY! Game is at West Point This Year.
Army needs all the help they can get, because Navy owns the series.
The Black Knights are -7.5 favorite, but as we know, it's a different game after kickoff! Meeting my longtime Army buddy at our local watering hole as we've done for 15 years in a row. Go Navy! FC2 SW/AW |
I think it's supposed to be the other way around: Go Army, Beat Navy!
|
This is one event whose pageantry I enjoy.
|
Go Navy Beat Army!!!
|
I think you know who I'm rooting for! SmileWavy
Every year a large group of us get together (along with a bunch of Navy guys/families) at my classmate and buddy's bar in Chapel Hill, Top of the Hill. What a great time. Not this year, unfortunately. |
Bummed that the low fog obscured the flyovers but the weather is certainly typical of the place and time of year. Enjoy the tradition.
|
I'm digging the Army uni's and I'm guessing the midshipmen needn't worry about getting these particular Whites clean again. Given the size of Navy #54 I don't think he gets much razzing about his name.
|
Wow, this weather sucks. Reminds me of about November to April there every year.
|
Getting almost impossible to watch.
No lights there? |

No, they definitely have lights at Michie Stadium. I guess the lights just can't do much. |
Navy threatening now.
|
Go Navy!
|
Epic 1st and goal stand there by Army!
My son is PCSing to the 25th Infantry so it’s extra special this year. |
I have written this a few times: I love this day since I get to remember my heritage, my service and, including ROTC, the best kids in this country.
My Dad was West Point 1952. The other side of the family was all Navy; all of them smarter than you are, trust me. I know that is rude, but I'll get over it. I won't break the tie: Go Army, Go Navy: Beat Air Force:D |

Man these kids are really whacking each other.

Fog seems to have cleared some....fun game.

Scholar, Warrior Athletes all!

My brother graduated from West Point in 1969. So, I dare not root for NAVY. :p
From his second year there. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1607811574.jpg |

That and the kids. We are all so fortunate. My son was Army ROTC in college at VMI and my Dad could not have been more delighted with his choice. I was a bit out of the loop. I am watching and rooting for both. The best day in college football. |
I just saw a cadet in the Army stands wearing what looked like a bag pipers' cap instead of the issue cover. Am I seeing things?

Of all years, this one has been extremely difficult on the cadets and mids with the COVID protocols. No one has been able to leave post since august, no parents weekends, numerous quarantine orders where some of them have been in nearly solitary confinement. Morale and mental well being has been a real concern.
They all get to go home after this game, and have an unusually long break until January something. So, no matter who wins the game, there will be about 8,000 smiles to go around. |

edit: well Navy just didn't have a good day today. Nice that Army could get the home win. |
My dad (USMA '62) lives and dies by the Army Navy game. Today was a good day.

I went to the 1983 Army-Navy Game at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. Fantastic Experience!
These Cadets/Midshipmen were so disciplined not a single foul was called the entire game. Loved the Atmosphere. Had a commander who went to the Air Force Academy from 1968-1972 and played on the Falcon’s Football team. In 1971 they played in the Sugar Bowl against the University of Tennessee. Somewhere on eBay I found a DVD of that game and gave it to the Colonel. He was floored, couldn’t believe the video existed. I’ve got a lot of respect for our cadets/midshipmen, nearly impossible to get an appointment to the academies, even more difficult to graduate. |
Well Navy didn't help their cause this time around. Decent defensive game. Well, there is always next year! Go Navy, beat Space Force!!
|
What an amazing day. The fog gave it a very “football” feel.
That goal line stand by Army was damn impressive. Loved Army’s uni’s. Fantastic win for the Black Knights. Only having cadets in the stands was very cool in a Military way. Their day, and they rocked it. My local bar, Lucky Lou’s, opened in 2004 and we’ve watched it there every year since. They know we’re coming and the whole place digs it. They usually have music instead of tv audio, but they always have this game’s audio on. Whole place was silent during pregame prayer and National anthem, then it erupts in applause. We wear our respective branch’s gear ( hats, tshirts, Bob was Army and brought a ceramic mule one year ). Folks stop by our table, chatting us up, thanking us. Bob and I talk smack all game. Then the post game songs are the best. Such a charge of energy when the winning team sprints to their side. Dust in my eyes, fo sho. Easily my favorite day on the year, right behind my kid’s birthdays. I understand the neutral field aspect, but I’d like to see it rotate through the home fields on occasion. Congrats Army! Till next year, Go Navy! |
