Cquartz 3.0—-happy with it?

Wanting to ceramic coat my wife’s truck. It’s Toyota Super White which gets chalky if not looked after. Has anyone here tried it DIY and are you impressed?

Pro installs run over $1200 and take days. Wife’s paint is a year old and the white doesn’t show swirls and the like so I feel like the extra correction labor would be wasted here.

If it’s a year old I have a feeling you’ll regret not doing a cut and polish first. It will amplify every imperfection. Typically even brand new cars require a little bit of paint correction before a ceramic coating. This is per a friend of mine that manages a chain of body shops and ceramic coated my wife’s car.

Matt is correct. I just did my wifes brand new, special ordered Wrangler. It has black paint and looked great outside but using a detail light I found scratches and halos from improper washing. After paint correction it looked much better outside then after ceramic it really pops.

I got the buddy rate so it’s probably not relevant, just the ceramic material was about $200 for two coats I think. It took him a day on a white car with excellent paint. I normally DIY but unless you are very confident in your paint correction skills I would hire a pro.

I had a detailer correct some of the paint on my GT3 RS after I removed some custom vinyl graphics the po put on and then use Ceramic Pro. It looks awesome and worth the $ I think.

On my wife’s E63, which is her daily driver, having a ceramic coating has been awesome. It stays cleaner longer, bugs come off easier, it’s easier to wash overall, and looks awesome.
