Hagerty Interview With A "Vehicle Wrangler" Friend
I know we had a thread about renting/ loaning your car to a film company.
Here's an interview with a friend who is a "wrangler" of vehicles for movies and TV. Thought you fellow Pelicans might find it interesting. https://www.hagerty.com/media/people/if-you-love-your-car-dont-rent-it-to-a-studio-a-conversation-with-once-upon-a-time-in-hollywood-car-coordinator-steven-butcher/?fbclid=IwAR2_5Q0rzlEuCsaSeuDVmIE56eGp1xS60cLpRuvw hSh_NL3GaBJPvV89b6E |
I know Steve, nice guy. Just reading the title of the link, I was nodding *yes*. The guys who rent cars out for productions have a fleet of cars usually that are dedicated for that job, I would never rent out a car I cared about for filming. I have plenty of stories, including a young lady friend who lost her old Mercedes last summer to an "incident." She will probably never get paid for it...totally sucks.
My friend Billy Stabile is a big car guy in Hollywood, he supplied the cars for "Ford vs. Ferrari" if not mistaken. |

Why would anyone rent their car out without first having an ironclad 'You wreck it, you bought it' insurance policy in place first?
|
Pretty cool, I didn't realize that much thought went into cars in a movie and there were people who made a career doing it.
