Getting enough fruit in your diet?

If not...this Belgian Ale from Founders is fermented with raspberries.
It's 9.2% ABV and has a strong raspberry flavor....not bad at all. Two is plenty! :)

Belgian Ale?
I resemble that remark!
:D

^^^ Do you guys have similar fruity beers in Belgium?
What level of ABV is popular over there?

Geronimo '74 12-28-2020 01:24 PM

We have some fruity beers for sure.
Hoegaarden, Liefmans, and others make nice fruity beers.
Mostly women drink them but not exclusively.
Alcohol percentage ranges from 4.5 to about 9 or 10.

Stijn is more of a connaisseur than me, maybe he’ll chime in.

The one you posted, I suspect, only uses the belgian connection as a marketing tool.
Never saw that beer here anywhere.

That's not what I wanted to hear.:D
Thanks

Hey, I’ll admit to having enjoyed a few myself.
Founders does use belgian yeast so it can’t be that bad. :)
Enjoy!

^^^ Thanks!

My fav beer is Bell's Two Hearted....but sometimes it's nice to try something else.

I should also mention that Bell's Brewery and Founders Brewery are only about 40 miles apart.
There are always new brews on the shelves around here....great place.

For some reason I thought of this

It's probably the style of beer and the yeast strain used to make. For example I make a German Kolsch, true to style, that uses White Labs 029 German Kolsch Yeast.

And Steve, I had no idea that Bells and Founders were that close together. Call me an Uber!

I like beer.

Please don't fruit my beer. You can keep that fruity beers.

I still prefer a German Lager.

My favorite, Erdinger Dunkle. I can only get it a few times per year.

cabmandone 12-31-2020 09:19 AM

No fruit in that! But a sweet flavor from the wheat if it's a true Dunkel. If you empty the very bottom of the bottle you can harvest the yeast too since it's bottle fermented!... although it's really bottle carbonated. Probably fermented in a huge stainless thing.

Next we'll be talking about Lemon Shandy or Radler style beers! FWIW, I have a friend with the name Radler so I have some fun with that one.

I've got no problem with fruity stuff, and I'm partial to raspberries. Ginger beer is also tasty.
