ROSS-TECH for VW and AUDI
Has anyone got a VCDS aka vag-com from Ross Tech?
I have a 2011 VW Jetta Sportwagon TDI with a 6 sp man. A check engine light came on and last night I ordered a VCDS from Ross Tech. I wanted to get one of these for a couple years and I finally pulled the trigger. $200 so its affordable. https://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/ |

Its a nice system. Used it on an '08 A8 for a while.
They rented my former law office for a while.

Used it on my tdi before trade in to do the fuel filters.
I also use it on the mk4 tdis to bleed the brakes and such.

Very nice tool, I used mine everyday as it was so much faster than the factory tool. I traded my old one in a few years back, Ross Tech couldn’t believe I was using their old 9 pin cable!

I have used Ross-Tech products for years. Great stuff and they really stand behind it with support.

I've had one for several years. Have a 2011 VW Touareg tdi and a 2013 Passat.
A great scan tool. I'll be changing the fuel filter on the TDI today so will be using it to prime the fuel system when done.

Yes. I got one immediately after buying my 2013 JSW TDI. If you run it out of fuel or something stupid like that (raises hand) you can use it to easily prime the fuel system (though there are other ways to get it started if you don’t have it), look at why, say, the car was randomly a no-start for a minute one morning, enter a tire correction factor if your snow tires are a slightly different size than your normal tires, periodically scan for stored information, etc. etc. etc. Easy to use and well-designed. Last fall I was visiting friends in Denver and he and I were around the corner at a neighbor’s yard sale. One of the girls in the house had a JSW TDI and mentioned she had a CEL…so we walked around the corner, got his laptop and dongle and plugged it in and told her what it was and what she should tell her shop.

I used it a lot. On my W8 Passat, VW Golf...you name it.
Best part: Using K-line adapter, I got it to work with my -93 Audi S4. I was able to read parameters and reset adaptation on 26 year old car.

I got the cable today and downloaded the program and figured out how to plug everything in and it works.
Found a couple error codes. really only one i probably should address. 008213 - Intake Manifold Flap Position Sensor (Bank 1) P2015 - 003 - Implausible Signal if this is the problem it seems I've already gotten my money out of this tool $200 for the vag/com and $65 for the part |

Got the part from Dieselgeeks today. I ordered the part Friday afternoon and it must have shipped Saturday. I got the email for shipping yesterday.
I installed the part today and cleared the code and it didn't come back so it looks like it fixed the error. ![]() Just a simple aluminum bracket. total cost maybe a tad under $300 I managed to drop two torx bits so i need to drop the baffle tomorrow and see if I can find them. May as well change the oil and filters while I'm there. |
