Another one in the books , a little bit of excitement at the front with very good mid pack racing . Really dumb drive by Kimi 🙁 . A good amount of passing at the end even Schumacher passed a Williams for a finishing position . Great drive for Alonso and McLaren good points race . Bottas may be on suicide watch 😁
|
Carlos has got to be disappointed after having his tires go off at the end leaving out of the points.
Best Les |
Also a good drive by Perez, he was in there with a chance for win #2. Just a bit of luck,.....
|
Thank god for the fast forward button. Racing is boring. A couple passes I guess for positions downfield. I think I only watch out of nostalgia nowadays. Because I always have watched. Good background noise
|
But to quote Murray Walker "Anything could happen and usually does"
so you wouldn't want to miss "it" when it does happen. |
Boring race but a few raised eyebrows:
- Norris kicking Ricciardo's butt 3 races in a row? Ok new car, but didn't expect that. - Ocon beating Alonso ? Same as above but hmm - Alpine Splitting the ferraris ? Good to see, I root for them as I love their cars and colors - Tsunoda: Big fanfare initially, now solidly way behind Gasly - Aston behind Alfa Romeo ? Probably Vettel's last season - Mick Schumacher: total ****box of a car, ahead of a williams and >1 min ahead of Mazespin. It's not showing but the guy might be decent... I'm really glad for Grosjean/Magnussen - what's the point of 1 more year with zero upgrade |
Schumacher is doing a very nice job. He just gets on with driving.

When Danny Ric finally shows up to a race, and Checo similarly figures out the RB 16B, it'll get really interesting. I think Ferrari (the race strategists, engineers, and Binotto) need to get their act together.
|
I think Perez is going to be fine in the RB. Riccardo passed 10 cars yesterday, and it looks like McLaren has a very good piece after lo these many years in the weeds. It's Ferrari that can't get out of their own way and unless they get their collective s!#t together will be fighting for fifth or sixth in the constructors come September.

Schumi jr. is in a tough situation , the entire racing community wants him to be as good as his father . That's a tough act to follow . But reading the comments that Steiner has stated the kid comes to work every day to learn his craft . He appreciates the entire team and is relatively humble and polite .
Sure his last name has opened doors for him but he has backed it up with championship results . I think he's in a great situation , with this year's Haas car he is there to learn F1 and get used to the team with minimal pressure/expectations . Hopefully the Haas 2022 car is much better and then we see what he can do . If he and the team can be consistent with solid mid pack results or better he goes to Ferrari . Or who knows maybe he transforms Haas into winners like his dad did with Benneton . You never know 😁 |
Ferrari's race management over the last few years has been horrid. They need to hire a Nascar crew chief to run their pit boxes, Ferrari certainly cant figure it out.

OMG yes, let’s get Porsche into F1

Yes, Michael suffered from the limitations on testing and practice, but was not he also lapped by Senna (in Spain, I believe). We bemoan Bottias for being a tenth or two off of Hammy's pace. Michael needed to work three times as hard, and twice as long to approach competitiveness against Senna. YMM, of course V. SmileWavy |
The endgame for Red Bull's engine investment has got to be equity investment by a manufacturer such as Porsche/ Audi or some other brand that will feel the squeeze when EVs silence the auditory reward of buying an exotic automobile. I think the automotive industry will need to push back against the wave of regulatory reforms. Implicit in Enzingers statements is that there needs to be an introduction of new fuels so that ICEs can still be manufactured and sold.
If that comes to pass, then RBR may have an extremely valuable platform, and my reap a windfall.. A huge, huge windfall. |

The only race that I recall him being lapped was at Monaco. On lap one, when he got to the hairpin, the guy in front of him parked and Michael busted his rear wing. Had to pit for the new one and ended up dead last. Got stuck behind De Cesares almost the whole race, worked his way up to eighth, or so. |
