I think people are only complaining about bolts that should be field removable, but are not. i.e. lug nuts at 300 lb-ft. Taking a bit of care in this one area is not an unreasonable expectation.

I do not care about the torque on my starter bolts. And I don't care if he uses power tools to save time.

Might not be right but it's real world experience.

And unfortunate as well.

Not even close to being analogous.

Right, but turn down the torque.

I was just kidding , but not really . Here , every critical fastener , gets torqued to factory spec, including wheels, every time without exception
I never finish tightening with cordless tools, always done by hand. There are however, lots of non critical fasteners , that just get blasted in the 3/8" impact, and final tightened with my calibrated arm.
The alternator bracket , or transmission crossmember on your rusty pickup does not really care how tight they are . The spec for things like that is guten tite. I have a cordless screwdriver that I use to run belly pan screws in . They are a pain for all of us .

I watched a factory gm mechanic, re assemble a warranty motor job, with no torque wrench, mains, rods, heads etc, air gun, blap, blap , blap . Guy was lighting fast, and made big money , but that is just wrong .

I use a cordless drill to run nuts on many times because you can adjust the torque.
And then while trying to remove a rusted on bolt after soaking it in penetrating oil, I still broke my extension with my impact driver.
