Music Soothes
Yesterday, another eye injection for AMD...usually these go well, with little to no pain.
But sometimes...like yesterday, my eye gets scratched. Probably by the tool used to hold my lids open for the injection. Then, when the numbing drops given wear off...well, hurts like hell as anybody who has suffered an eye scratch knows. I hate pain pills. So, crazy as it sounds, I plugged into my ipod set to shuffle play...for hours while leaning back in my recliner, eyes closed. Somehow, this seems to dull the pain a bit. at least gives me something distracting from the pain. Today, glad that eyes heal quickly from a scratch...only a dull ache remains. So, a weird non narcotic pain management suggestion for you...try it sometime. No harm, might help. |
I have a couple AXS tv video's recorded on my DVR which I've turned on and just enjoyed the music while I recover from my quadruple bypass, so yeah, I know exactly what you mean.

One step further.... Learn to play an instrument.

I stumbled on the idea of using music to relax a couple of years ago when having two months of radiation on top of my face surgery for cancer. I had a YouTube video playing in an extra window, fell asleep at my computer for about 20 minutes. It was some Chinese instrumental symphony I think? Anyways I started saving music from all around the world and making movies 3 to 4 hours long and I run them pretty much all night now, especially since I am going through my third bout of cancer with immuno-therapy now. I save the files as MP4 and then assemble 25 to 30 with the built in utility Windows 10 has, copy them to a 4TB drive plugged into a Roku box attached to out bedroom flat screen. It sure helps!

Damn, Paul & John. I sure with you guys the best. I'm amazed all the time at how inventive you guys are.

John & Scott make me realize I was pretty wimpy with only a little eye pain. Guys, nice to know I'm not alone in discovering that music can help. SmileWavy
