One of the classics!

My friend had a Holy Grail Party years ago — and in order to prepare for it, I played the audio over and over and over again at work.

So - all you experts - what did the lady accused of being a witch say when the scales determined that she was indeed a witch?

It's a fair cop

Both paraphrased:
They dressed me up like this and this isn't my nose.

(But she turned me into a newt and look at the hat!)

After the scale, its a fair cop. (I had to cheat and look this one up)

Sometime in highschool or college, I bought the "Original Script". It was a "photocopied" book but included hand witten notes (I'll bite your knees off!"). And whole sections they were not filmed. A section to do with archers.

Needless to say...we were nerds. It took Princess Bride to create another movie that was as quotable.

I'd say Mel Brooks created movies of equal. But they are different. They are "American". Nothing wrong with that, but the humor is different. I love them both, in different ways. Most of these movies could not be made today.

Camelot!
Camelot!
Camelot!

its only a model....

I’m surprised that “Blazing Saddles” hasn’t been “cancelled” yet. I bought a copy of it (and “Gone with the Wind”) for that very reason.

“Cancel culture” in 2020-21 is just a newer version of public book burnings in Berlin in 1939. If control freaks don’t want me to have something, better believe I’ll go out of my way to get it (I’ve got a couple of copies of the original banned “Frankenchrist” album by DK, an original copy of “Song of the South” and a few other goodies like that too).

My 11 y/o son has the entire Frenchman taunting scene memorized - both of them actually (the one near the middle and the one at Castle Arrgh). My influence. :)

Nostril Cheese 01-11-2021 12:35 AM

Blazing Saddles could never get made today, lol.

I saw it on TV recently and they had silenced the audio during the fart scene. I couldnt believe it.

Also remember seeing The Jerk on TV where they changed the dogs name from S **head to Stupid

Was that the DK album with the Giger poster? I seem to remember a friend having that up on her wall.

Porsche-O-Phile 01-11-2021 12:47 AM

Yep. It’s the one that caused all the outrage with Tipper Gore spinning out of control demanding for censorship and ratings and all that (eventually led to the warning labels on albums). The album has all the Shriners on it, the poster was inside. Jello Biafra was one of my influences in my yoot.

I would hate to think how many times I have seen this movie, and the multiple times I have quoted it !

Look at the bones !

GH85Carrera 01-11-2021 05:10 AM

I remember going to see it in the theaters back in 1975 or 1976 with a chick I had dated for a while. I laughed hard during entire movie and she was convinced it was the very dumbest movie ever made in the history of movies. She broke up with me over it. I always thought that alone was funny.

I have not seen it in a while. I need to.

This would be a good indicator if two people were compatible, I can't imagine sharing my life with someone who didn't also have a warped sense of humor !

Watch "Dolomite is My Name." They seem to have tried to pack as much racism and foul language into a 90 minute movie as possible.

You definitely dodged a bullet.....

The first time I saw it was in Valencia, Spain around 1975/1976. Dubbed in Spanish! First time i saw it in English was when I came back to the US a couple of years later. Would like to watch it again in Spanish to see how they translated some of the scenes now that I have it pretty much memorized in English.

I had no idea they made this. Thanks..

Oh man, back in high school it was Dolemite and Cheech and Chong movies every weekend. I'm laughing thinking about that now. Good times.

"I fart in your general direction you tiny-brained wiper of other people's bottoms.".

I'm a fan and even have a Killer Rabbit of Caernabannog as my Windows avatar. My boss actually questioned me on it and was concerned for the appropriateness. I've decided to keep it.

With your user name, I find it hard to believe your employer would be ignorant of the rabbit.

On the first date with my now wife 30 years ago, we discussed how much we like the Far Side. I don't remember if I brought up the Far side or if it was her. It was indeed a first hurdle before moving forward with the date. We both have books from the Far Side series.

Our 11 year old saw (most of) this for the first time. He was laughing right up until the end and was all excited about the epic battle about to happen. Then the police showed up and he says "Seriously?".

He was disappointed in the end to say the least.
