Ring doorbell battey?

Santa brought me a Ring doorbell for Christmas. Since installing it a day or two after opening it i have already had to charge the battery a few times...it seems to go through the charge quickly.
I have adjusted the scan area and to detect people only...but may need to fiddle with it more.
What settings do you fine folks use?
Thanks

that's very odd....I get a ton of alerts, and even in the dead of winter, my battery lasts 2+ months.

I called when I first got my ring, and they sent me a spare battery, which makes life much easier.

I live in a 1770's stone house, never had a doorbell, and I wasn't about to try to snake a wire out there. If you have or had a wired doorbell, just hook up the wires, it'll keep the battery charged, even if you don't use the chime inside the house.

Have you looked at the Ring Doorbell solar charger? It is a simple installed unit which mounts to the wall with small solar panels. Does require a few hours of sunlight to charge it. After mounting it to the wall your Ring mounts on top. Its about 1/2 inches longer than the Ring and about 2 inches wider.
Worth taking a look at...

You got a bad one. Should be a warranty on that... Instructions on mine said to fully charge for 16 hours, then after that, it lasts several weeks.

Can't you get power from the existing doorbell wiring?

Somethings wrong. They should last much longer unless it’s recording all the time.

I have two of these in use. Get minimum of 6 weeks out of the batteries recharging them when Ring message me to say 29% left. Damp and cold here which cannot help battery life. Yorkshire Stone walls so definitely wouldn't drill holes through them for cables.

Mine lasts over 3 months but I have motion set pretty low. It does get rung almost every day with deliveries.

That’s how mine is set.
