I can't /&&÷>!$ believe this $%&! hasn't been =/&%#?× mentioned before,. Every "%*&÷/&%÷! I know that is "%&÷$[< polite is nothing more than a [<@@/ !@××$ $%[÷&÷!#. %&>+ em all! If you don't agree you can stick it up your #$× sideways!

(CNN)Polite society considers swearing to be a vulgar sign of low intelligence and education, for why would one rely on rude language when blessed with a rich vocabulary?

That perception, as it turns out, is full of, uh ... baloney. In fact, swearing may be a sign of verbal superiority, studies have shown, and may provide other possible rewards as well.

"The advantages of swearing are many," said Timothy Jay, professor emeritus of psychology at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, who has studied swearing for more than 40 years.

Not buying this. I stood in a line with my five year old and two idiots behind me used ***** and MF a dozen times to describe various situations when an actual verb or noun would have been much more effective. These guys weren't on the way to a Mensa meeting.

The people I know that talk like that are somewhere between a box of rocks and an accordion.

Mythbusters proved that cussing honestly did help when someone accidently injured themselves. So for every busted knuckle, cuss like a sailor and it feels better.

My mom's dad never cussed at all. His worst epitaph of frustration was expressed as "dingbust". My dad's dad was a lot more fun to listen as his language was more um colorful.

What's really sad is I hear parents cuss like if their small children were even there in public. Its every other word.

Not buying it. People who lack the vocabulary to properly express themselves tend to cursing as a method to cope @#*$&@@@

That netflix special on swearing is pretty good . It is kind of amusing,that there can be two words basically meaning the same thing, but one is considered vulgar and passe' and the other is socially acceptable .

A lot of the Fundies that I know are big time swearers.

Same for drinking. The story around San Antonio is that when the Southern Baptist Convention held meetings here the hotels ran out of liquor.
