Maybe not illegal, but I do believe most Bed and Breakfast establishments would prefer not to take the risk of having a feral animal indoors. ;)

Good way to gain power and reliability, but not sure how the weights compare...

Most modern high perf V8s seem to be pretty light weight often with Al blocks and heads and light weight parts. I know that most folks say that a modern LSx is lighter than a Porsche flat6 and a modern LSx is not supposed to be that much heavier than a miata 4 cyl. I'd bet that a modern V8 if all Al is probably as light or lighter than a Ferrari V12. But that's a total WAG on my part.

I haven't yet been able to find a weight of the colombo engine, but I did find the following "The engine block, sump, heads and auxiliary housings are all alloy castings made at the Ferrari factory in Maranello. Centrifugally cast steel cylinder liners are shrunk into the block and incline towards the heart of the engine, a 52-pound crankshaft, machined to close tolerances by stages from a 300-pound billet of steel." I'm thinking they may not be super lightweight.

One of my all time favorite cars. I used to ride by one parked at a house in Memorial near the bike shop I worked at as a kid in the 80’s. That v12 engine sound is half its beauty.
