Designed all the tooling myself using high school math. Who knew that would come in handy someday.

I dated a girl in high school who went on to a mediocre carrier as an actress on TV. Started out in bit parts usually getting murdered in one of the first few scenes. Did get a part permanently for a few series but only one lasted very long. Her bio was always entertaining as her age kept dropping. She must have been a child when I dated her. Yikes!

I walked 47 miles of barbed wire.
I used a cobra snake for a necktie. I got a brand new house on the roadside made from rattlesnake hide. I got a brand new chimney made on top made out of a human skull. |

I actually used that line when I had hernia surgery.
They ask you to state your name, and why you were there. Nurses and Doc laughed..either at the joke or my exposed junk. |
Doc also told me to sit down when I pee because I'm not supposed to be lifting anything heavy.

I think the only thing I ever "won" was with the team that took 1st at the first Chumpcar race in 2009. I was the rookie and did a couple of stints in the car and didn't wreck it, that year.
I have raised two amazing kids. That will always be what I'm most proud of. The youngest is a Captain in the Army and will be starting the next phase of his career in a month and thankfully moving closer to home with his wife and two sons. My daughter is a licensed mental health professional who put herself through grad school. Both defy millennial stereotypes and are anything but lazy and entitled. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1613140509.JPGhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1613140996.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1613140996.jpg |
Great looking kids, Jerry, on top of everything else! :)http://forums.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/wat6.gif

Back when I had Traveler Kids, I created a few new styles and techniques for my boy's line. I outfitted (that I know) Angelina Jolie's kids, Magic Johnson's nephew (IIRC), our own Wayne's kids and many other Pelican's kids for years.
Handmade Urban Dino shirts. These were amazing and sold for years but incredibly labor intensive, I did them all myself. There were many different variations, some using foil, but I would lay a shirt down, place a 1/4" thick waterjet cut T-Rex skull on the chest, spray bleach over it with an HPLV gun, pick up the skull and drop in bucket of water, hang shirt to dry. Do the same with CHOMP letters which were harder laying them all down, drying them, etc. The foil shirts I had silk screen the T-Rex and then lay cut foil down and then heat press them. Great workout. The destructed ringer, contrast strips sewn in at the sleeve opening so that they and the shirt fabric both rolled and twisted when washed. The Gap copied my baseball stitch slub shirts. Not the first ever to fleece line anything but first in our design generation. That was copied a lot. All the sweaters and hoodies and jackets were like wearing a stuffed teddy bear. Dip dyed and overdyed shorts and pants. Created a screen printing technique where you pushed a TON of brown suede puff ink through a screen and when cured it was as much 3/16" high little mountains of "dirt". The bike tracks on the back of many different motoX and BMX shirts and dirt on dump trucks shirts were really cool and unique. Also the only one to do proper leather cafe racer motorcycle jackets for boys. Even at $150 wholesale, $350 retail, they sold very well. Also the only one to get away with doing military-themed t-shirts. Tough sell to store owners but the ones who bought them sold very well. Proud of that. It was an amazing 10 years of my life. Sometimes I miss it, was terribly fun, but glad I sold it when I did. Saw boys wearing my clothing 3 times here in Boston. That was really great. Sweaters were one of my favorite things to design. The red plaid lumberjack jacket sold out every season. Loved the cargo pants, not super profitable even made in India. Got into Baby in the second half of the company.

Leather motorcycle jacket. One of my only regrets is not having one made in my size which I did for the blazers/jackets.
