On-line I will be quickly forgotten. Never really known for that matter.

To the people that know me, I want to be remembered as a good husband and father.
As someone who showed God's love to others in all that I did.

I couldn't give a rip about how I'm remembered when dead.
It's what you are known for when alive that matters.

Some will say that how we are remembered here on earth after we die is what heaven and hell are all about.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion(s), but the above is rubbish, if you're going to use anything close to the traditional Christian concepts of Heaven and Hell.

Heaven and Hell aren't defined in an American Idol fashion. There are plenty of people who do lead wonderful, caring, giving, pious lives in obscurity. On the flip side, there are others who are completely horrible people yet are somehow famous and well-loved by society. Any number of current celebrities (i.e. athletes/actors/performers) would likely qualify. It's not how you are remembered. It's what you did and how you led your life that counts.

And no one remembers them? I find that hard to believe.

Pretty sure there is strong correlation between how you lived your life and how you are remembered.

Like Early_S_Man and Grady Clay, a whole bunch here will be remembered as long as the site exists.

I've had the unique experience of finding out who would care if I died and who wouldn't. Guessing similar to finding out how you're remembered when you're gone

Moral of my story is....

You've no idea how you'll be remembered when your gone until you're gone :)

Most people you know will step up by being there for your family and a few won't but you don't know who ;)

Don't worry about it as you'll be dead if you stay dead so it won't matter to you :D

If you don't stay dead then the best advice I can offer is,
Treasure the people who stepped up and keep them close to you forever. Don't let anyone that didn't step up get you down or eat away at your thoughts, just remember them as someone you used to know ;)

Damn Paul. Raggin on my composition style again! I think the group here is unique. Lots of us have been giving and taking on here for a long time, and sadly some great people aren't here to do that any more. This seems to be just the right forum for a lot of people.

I remember telling a young cop he had enough seniority to be on day shift, get off the night shift. He replied: I want to work nights just to watch you talk to people that don't like you..........

I think I'll be remembered for my playlist, LOL. I mean it. The stuff that I've done will be part of the lost history of the community when I'm gone. They won't miss me at all, but they will miss the stuff that I do now.

Other than being a great Dad and Grand Dad I think I may well be remembered by some for my ability to help women explore their endless supply of orgasm.

Good husband, provider, exemplary father and hard worker, and funny!

I wonder if Hitler ever gave this any thought. If so, did he wish to be remembered as the most evil human to have ever lived?

GH85Carrera 02-05-2021 11:31 AM

What do you want to be remembered for?

Never ending a sentence with a preposition. ;)

varmint 02-05-2021 11:37 AM

the wife says my tombstone will read "he spent a lot of time playing with dogs".
