Careers with Porsche
Hey,
I'm having trouble deciding what I should major. One things for sure, when I'm done with college, I want to enjoy going to work. Working for Porsche would be my dream job. I have browsed their website, and there are over a hundred job openings in Germany, but none in America. Location doesn't matter to me. I could always learn german, live in Poland, and commute to Germany. (family lives in poland, I know the language, and am dreaming). What kind of majors to I have to choose from to work for a company like Porsche? Like I said I'm dreaming, but hey you never know! |

Are you interested in international corporate law? Designing and/or engineering? Automobile marketing? Tech/IT? There are lots of possibilities. My advice would be to pick whatever major you like most, and then see if you could somehow turn it into an automotive-related occupation.

Well, there is a college I'm preaty sure I can get into that does buisness. I also enjoy a course I'm taking now called computer graphics. So for what you listed, designing, and marketing would work out. Engineering is too difficuilt, not that I wouldn't work hard, but my grades aren't the best. I'm looking at what college to go do, which is why I started this thread. All the majors I have in mind are totaly different from each other. I'm thinking of
Criminal investigation, architecture, meteorology, computer graphic design, and buisness. As a child, I was intrested in meteorology, and architecture. Now I'm into computer graphics (I love the course I'm in), criminal investigation sounds intresting, and I like to follow buisness sometimes. I also like webdesign but that area is so saturated IMHO, and most people are capable of designing their own webpage. Computer graphics isn't too demanded either. My cousin went into that, after college he had trouble finding a job, and now that he has one, it's not something he enjoys. (designing graphs for sat type tests is what he does) I don't know, ever since office space came out, I knew I better have a job I love because most of life is spent working. Right now, my biggest intrest is Porsches. It would truely be awesome owning a Porsche, a piece of heritage, and also working for the company. |

I'll suggest you look into Industrial Design. It's kinda like architecture of products, combined with computer graphic design, and buisness skills.
It's much less technical than engineering, but you get to design stuff to the point of where the engineers take over (figuring out how to manufacture what you came up with)
