Drove a Taycan 4S...Ummm, wow!
Had to take the Cayman into the dealer for a warranty repair yesterday and was given a Taycan 4S as a loaner.
Oh my! What a car. The range is horrible but what fun to drive. Acceleration was mind numbing. One could say it did zero to puke in about 3.8 seconds! Looking forward to see what the future brings us. |

I do like the looks of them. I've seen a couple in the wild.

I CANNOT believe you didn't come over and pick me up and let me drive it too!

I spent January in Newport Beach and saw more of those in a week than I had seen ever before.
What kind of range are you seeing...I have read that is a bit of an issue but it's not like people get ICE Porsches because they get great MPG's:) |

Not for me but they look damn good. Better than the Panamera in my opinion.

How does it handle? Mind-numbing acceleration is one thing, but getting it to turn - that's a very different element of driving...

I got a ride in one at the Porsche Experience Center in LA during one of their monthly cars and coffees. They were showing the Zero - 60 (2.5 second) launch control capabilities of the Taycan Turbo version. The above mentioned "Zero to Puke" is pretty accurate. On my third ride I felt pretty nauseous. Not too bad for a 5,000 pound car that is not bad.

I was hoping the RWD Taycan would be a viable option since it's getting down closer to my new car budget but after watching a couple of youtube reviews, it looks like the 4S is substantially better.
Guess I'll have to wait awhile. |

Granted there aren't many of those around yet, but they are coming, and the specs for the Taycan using them are 60 miles in 4 minutes using 800V, 350-kW fast chargers. Still not as great as ICE but 60 miles should be more than enough for most people most days. Then again that 60 miles isn't with your right foot planted |

In Canada even the base model with some options put it over $100k, the Turbo S is about $250k
Stupid prices |
The market is funky
10% off all 2020 which just decreased every sold 2020 in value That’s a ton for a car they refused to discount...so far I saw a 150 k new, used at 96 K Fantastic car |

They look too cool in person especially the front. Looks alone, it doesn't look heavy. Yep much, much better then the Panamera. I often wonder why they name it that? For the American market?

@Eric, I had no idea you lived in Aumsville. My Mother/Step father have lived outside Turner for many years. Step father, Jim McBride, was superintendent of Cascade schools for many years.

I drove a Taycan Turbo S at the MSR Houston track this weekend. It was really impressive. There was a Porsche instructor in front of me but he picked up the pace when me and the other driver behind us seemed OK with it. It really gets around the track well. The braking was a little slower than I'm used to but I'm sure it's really capable when you're used it. Acceleration was great but not mind bending or anything.
I also drove a Panamera base which were about to get. I doesn't have the power of the 911's that were in front of me but I could easily climb up their butt in the turns. And then there was the Carrera S. Wholly cow! What a beast! I have a new appreciation for PDK in Sport Plus. You sound like a Patrick Long without touching the shifter or paddles. |

He made it a two day trip for that much distance (like I did in my 85 911 when I made the same trip) and he arrived with plenty of charge, and never once felt any worry about running out of go juice. The only real disadvantage he mentioned is way off the beaten path routes are hard in the middle of nowhere, for lack of charging stations. the American west is a large area. |
