COVID vaccination in NJ
I've been leery of the vaccine but put myself on two lists figuring it'd take awhile to get an appointment. I was correct. Even though the CVS website says that vaccine is available at the CVS 10 miles from here I can't get an appointment. WTF?
I'm in NW jersey so what's it like in other parts of NJ and Eastern PA.

SJ here Cape May and Gloucester Counties. Haven't hear much about availability down here. Personally going to wait until they strap me in the chair and force me to take it.
My wife has an autoimmune disorder, I hear her complain about availability and others getting the vaccine before her. We also have several friends front line health care making stink over not being able to get the vaccine. But take it all for what it is we are last for everything down here. |

Good luck. We spent many hours on many websites. Got lucky when spots opened up on Atlantic health for the Dover megacenter.
My mom got vax because she is in an assisted living facility. Only people I know that got vax from the NJ 'official' signup site were first responders and health care facilities. My wife's father, 91, signed up early on NJ site and did not get an appointment. The phone number/hotlines are a joke. Spent hours on hold, never got through.

I woke up at 5am, and got an appointment, here in NJ at the cvs just a few miles away. For tomorrow!
I was disappointed yesterday when other nearby states like CT showed plenty of availability, but NJ said no appointments available. I woke up early (5a) and was able to book a first dose tomorrow and 2nd dose a month from now. https://www.cvs.com/immunizations/covid-19-vaccine Be persistent. Also, try Walgreens.

The only consistent a availability I've been seeing is for first responders and healthcare workers. The general public availability has been sporadic. NJ 101.5 was saying Walgreens and CVS will be giving it out starting next week.
I have no intention of getting it. I just have a feeling I may have no choice with my jobs, but I'll still fight that tooth and nail. .

I stopped at the local Walmart on Tuesday to get my 2nd shot of shingles vaccine . I got there about 9:30 and the pharmacy was quite busy . When I got to the check in window I asked why so busy ? They were giving Covid shots to folks over 65 .
I asked the pharmacist that gave me my shingles shot when did she think the " common person " would be able to get it ? Based on what they are being told by suppliers in approximately 3-4 weeks . I am 63 my wife 64 and we plan on getting the vaccination .

I'm right there with you, flatbutt. Typically, I am traveling half of every month, and my last business trip was almost a year ago at this point. I don't expect my business meetings to immediately return to face-to-face, but the fact that I have been vaccinated would mean that if there's a reason why I need to be on a job site, or in-person in a planning meeting, I can do so with minimal concern of getting infected or infecting someone else.
of course it is possible the clock resets at 5am, more likely I got lucky. In fact, an hour after I was granted the CVS appointment, a nearby hospital contacted me that I have a confirmed spot in their reservation system. I declined of course so that the next in line will be granted that spot. Don't give up.

Not promising, but open link above in an 'incognito window' will bypass the pay popup.

I was in the queue on Atlantic Health last Friday, for a slot at Convention Hall
They opened slots and I was on at 745 at 8:05 they opened it up, told me there were 10,000 people in the line, there were 950 doses and I was # 6300 in line They randomly assigned when it opened I watched for a while and the doses kept getting lower.. at the end...a note to try again register at Atlantic Health Last edited by Ziggythecat; 02-12-2021 at 05:42 AM.. |

it's a google chrome thing file>new incognito window
safari calls it a private window and all the private or incognito window does is it blocks a pop-up ad....so if you never do the incognito thing, just proceed as normal.

The information highway sucks
I found out about it when I got a haircut If not for that encounter, I’d still just be waiting for something |

It is not so much the information highway being the problem. The problem is that for every dose that is available there are 10 or 20 people trying to schedule that one dose.
Some states have had individuals set up messaging services that alert you when new doses become available. Oklahoma had one of the first. A programmer put it together on his spare time and let it go public. It was costing him $400 to $500 a day for server and texting. It really doesn't increase the number of doses given but it did eliminate hours of time checking on availability. Here is a link to the Oklahoma alert system. Only works for Oklahoma. https://www.vaccine-alerts.com/ Yesterday the US administered 2 million doses. Canada had administered a total of 1.15 million since the start. The EU is a total disaster. The UK, Israel, and the UAE have done exceptionally well. |

FB... move to Ohio! I think this makes the second time I've told you this.
![]() Seriously though, I wish you all luck and remember to be patient. This is a huge undertaking. Something else, contact your healthcare provider. If you've got health issues that put you at higher risk, they might be able to get you in line. My wife has been helping some older people who have been struggling to get an appointment.
