Anyone in VA who can do me a huge favour?

VA guys:

I bought a fibreglass top for Kathryn’s Moke. It’s in Chesapeake, VA 23322 & the guy can’t ship it. So I need help getting it crated/palletized & shipped to Oregon. If you can help, please PM me.

Cheers,

Paul.

Not able to help directly here, but I was in a similar situation in the past and was a able to find a local handyman guy (I want to say via Yelp but could be misremembering) who I was able to hire to knock together a crate for me, then had a uship outfit to pick it up from seller's driveway and deliver to me.

My son works in Norfolk - but before I ask him to help, can the owner move the thing at all locally?

I am assuming no, so what are the dimensions? Weight? Fragile? How much insurance etc.

Jack has an FJ Cruiser with not much room but he is creative and works for beer.

Have we seen pictures of Katherines Moke?

I have not. I know what Mokes are and did a quick search before I asked, little on a fiberglass tops.

Now, if this is Katherine (from a Moke website and this is a joke, folks) I'll deliver most Riki-tic.

Mrs Seahawk would probably be pretty insistent on being your wingman on that trip.

(Seahawk. Wingman. Sometimes I crack myself up)

Nicely done:cool:

I just need some more info before I ask the boy if he can muster.

He is almost a year into being a lawyer so his hours are goofy but manageable. I can also provide foreman-like leadership...I need to get down there anyway.

Here’s how it looked when it went away to have the engine/transmission installed. Should be done soon.

Ha! That’s Kathryn in my avatar. Way out of my league. We test drove a Moke as pictured (electric) but it sucked so I bought her a real one. Yanked the 998cc & 4-speed & it’s getting a 1300 Efi & auto (don’t hate on me, it’s going to St. Thomas, VI where the max speed is 35mph & the hills are STEEP). Should be a fun little runabout.

There’s a separate thread about it so I will post updates there when it’s done.

I have asked, good questions- I should have thought of that.

I had an FJ- an ‘07 in late ‘06. It was OK but I went back to Land Rovers.

Here’s the top, it also has side & rear doors.
