The Krofft Supershow?

Does this mean anything to anyone but to me? Think Saturday morning in the 70's. In a round about way Wonderbug led me here-WW

Nostril Cheese 02-18-2021 11:55 PM

Land of the Lost was goddamn creepy...

ckelly78z 02-19-2021 02:02 AM

I was much more of a Rocky/Bullwinkle fan with Mr. Peabody, Boris, and Natasha.

I also liked Chumley, Tennessee Tuxedo, and Phineous J. Whoopee.

I don't think I ever saw the Krofft Supershow ?!?

I think it means something to a lot of us.

LOL- Hong Kong Phooey.

How about the India doing the pollution commercials?

IROC 02-19-2021 03:03 AM

I had a Hong Kong Phooey lunchbox. One of those square metal ones with the glass-lined thermos inside. :)

HR Pufnstuf was nightmare-inducing. A few years ago these demented Krofft guys came out with something called Muttinstuff (?) with a bunch of dogs. My kids liked it, but for me it brought back all the creepiness...

wswartzwel 02-19-2021 04:58 AM

I had the race car lunch box with magnetic cars and a track on the back. One day my thermos poured out little broken pieces of glass. Guess I was too rough with it

I think Sid and Marty had a pretty good supply of pharmaceuticals. But we were kids! We'd watch anything that was made for kids.

Was Lancelot Link part of the Kroftt empire?

I was bored yesterday and noticed there's a bunch of those shows on YouTube.

Just the theme songs alone flooded back memories of the good simple times. All of our two channels came from Idaho. That ment I had to get up at 5am Saturday so I didn't miss any. The TV had that color bar, then they played the Natl. Anthem as my excitement built.

Lots of show's I had forgotten like ARC II, Jason of Star Command. Especially the Krofft stuff, like Bigfoot and Wildboy, and the Dyna Girls. Another favorite was Ghostbusters which was decades before the hit movie. I think it was a couple of actors from 'F-troop" who starred in it.

I wonder what the the actors got paid in those day's? Probably had to have second jobs for sure.-WW

I was more a "Bugs Bunny/ Roadrunner Hour" kind of guy.

On our first date 20+ years ago, I drove my date (now wife) home from dinner. Had the heater in the Audi cranked but she was still cold. Turned up her seat heater -- she'd never seen one before -- and all was well; I'm sure that scored me our second date.

Our second date was skiing at Stevens Pass. We had to stop a few miles from Stevens for avalanche control; to pass the time I sang her the theme songs for Sigmund the Sea Monster and HR Pufnstuff. Risky move, but she ended up marrying me so it paid off . . . .

MBAtarga 02-19-2021 10:49 AM

Thanks for putting that theme song into my head! NOT!

I enjoyed Dr. Shrinker and of course I was the right age to have a certain fondness for Electra Woman and Dyna Girl.

But HR Pufnstuf was just plain creepy. Really awful production value and, seriously, a boy with a talking flute and a giant penis shaped dragon?? Sid and Marty might owe me some damages.

masraum 02-19-2021 11:19 AM

I wasn't able to watch the whole thing, but I had several of the EK stunt bikes in '74 or '75, I think. When my dad went back into the military and we started moving around, we had to leave them all in our first move.

I liked Sigmund and the sea monster when I was a wee lad

Rusty Heap 02-19-2021 05:25 PM

I was a member of the Banana Splits fan club. Whole lotta posters and decoder ring things.
