Tishabet
so this guy.
hangs out on PPOT. haven't heard from him in awhile. but he is a regular. he reaches out to me unsolicited. he says, "hey, i have this simple fish finder i dont need, you want it?" we work out a deal and we TRADE! fun trade. what a fun trade. well, i got the fish-finder hooked up after sourcing a cool lightweight battery. (drilling a 1" hole in a brand new kayak - SUCKS) and you know what? total GAME-CHANGER. i have been fishing a tiny local lake. all of us Kayaks launch from this crappy ramp, that has been long neglected after they quit allowing motor powered boats. then we paddle out to where we think the bass are. i was just about to do the same thing when a guy comes back in..he says, "it is way too crowded over there" he pulls his kayak and leaves...in the meantime i had peeked at my graph..WTF? it looked like a fish town meeting! right below my boat. and i see a hump. there is an ancient abandoned car down there. at around 10 feet of water. i pulled a lot of bass from and around that car. sad part. other kayaks see me hauling out bass and they all start to orbit me. secret is out. the sunken car is now no longer a secret. hahhaha. i kept quiet as a mouse, but a jumping bass makes a very distinctive sound. thanks Tishabet.. i will put it to good use. heck, i already have! ![]()

Good things happen to great people. It just go round and round. I want to thank you for gifting me your propane hose. I owe you one bud. Hey, I hope all its well with your house and the fire. If you live closer, I would be happy to offer you a place to stay and store your valuables.

Glad to hear it Cliff, I couldn't be more pleased with my side of the trade. A fishing mentor of mine once told me that the number one rule to catching salmon is to fish where the salmon are, and that finder did put me on a lot of them... sounds like it works in the fresh water too. Tight lines!

I love cheating! Does not guarantee fish in the boat but sure aids in finding them and the structure that is holding them. Less wasted time chasing them in spots where they are not hanging out/feeding.
Good score.

No dynamite needed, get an old bell crank telephone, stick the wires in the water, crank and scoop.

Some experience with phone crank as a kid. Buddy's dad had one and wires got attached to a lot of things. Door knobs, bicycles, anything conductive, including a neighbor kid suspected of minor kid pranks. He confessed very quickly😁

Cool! Fancy Yak setup you got there Vash! We got some blowup kayaks to play with in the lakes out here, but I’m not brave enough to try to fish out of one! 🤣
