CarFax Theft Reported

Hi All
I'm thinking of selling my 06 Z71 Tahoe. It was stolen in 2017 and recovered 5 days later. Damage was minimal a few scratches broken door lock, and ignition switch.
The CarFax I got had a theft report which was a $5000 claim.
My question is will this affect the selling price?
The vehicle is loaded and in great shape. It's a U.S. vehicle I had imported in 2010.

Thanks

I'm going to say no. It would make no difference to me provided the ignition was properly repaired. Where the scratches on a truck come from makes no difference to me.

It's not a classic car, it's a pretty old truck. Put the facts into your ad, people who worry about that sort of issue won't be interested in your truck, no big deal.

If anyone gives you grief move on to the next buyer.

I find people buying 15 year old vehicles tend to not really bother with CarFax.

They are typically looking for a bargain and are not expecting perfection or a clean report.

I wouldn't think that would be an issue for most people. things like salvage title, frame damage, major accident, flooding would be an issue. Theft and recovery 4 years ago, probably not. The folks that would have an issue, probably won't even reach out if they can get the carfax before talking to you.

Oh, I don't know. I can imagine a group of like-minded people on a car forum spending 3 days and 6 pages in a discussion about whether a 'stolen' report on carfax shouldn't be worth a few thousand dollars off of the asking price, then the OP eventually revealing that he paid full price for it anyway and showing off a few pictures of the new possession.

Thanks all
I will mention it. In Ontario we have to supply a vehicle information package from the licensing office. The theft will be on the report.
I will post the selling price.

Are you sure the UVIP has the theft report on it? I've never seen that reported, it's just a list of previous owners.

That looks like a police pursuit vehicle.

It's not a pursuit vehicle, just a Z71
Those are the winter wheels. Summer rims are aluminum

Tint the front windows and stick some fake antennae on the roof.

As for a theft recovery, it matters to some people as they think it was hooned around in, but since you had it for many years since, it should be a fine vehicle to most.

Update

I wound up trading it in for a 2017 Tahoe Premier. I really didn't want to deal with people selling it privately during this pandemic. The numbers are increasing every day.
They gave me $2000 as a trade.
Here's an old and new pic

Now that I see your picture I've met you before. At a wedding about 3-4 years ago.

Congrats! Is the new one a Canadian model? Do you need to do anything to make it more theft proof than the previous one?
