I think $100-150 is the going rate for programming. Have you checked Pelican for the key? If they don't have it, suncoast porsche often has good prices on OEM stuff. It's a dealer based out of Sarasota, FL with a big onlines sales site.

I've replaced just the plastic housing (cheap) reusing the electronic guts and the actual key.
New keys from Porsche are ridiculous.

Most locksmiths can reprogram a key at a fraction of what a stealership will...but won't guarantee the results. Been down that path with my parents.... no regerts

Even on a Porsche? I think some vehicles require access to a manufacturer's database. That would be cool if so.

Our local True Value can do it for many cars, including late model Porsche (my buddy got one there for his Cayman).

That's cutting the key AND programming the fob portion to the vehicle?

Must be done at the stealership, no way around that, it’s trying to find cheap blanks that is easier.
