SpaceX launch

Numero 10, about 20 minutes away.

I give it a about 50;50 odds of sticking the landing.

flipper35 03-03-2021 10:45 AM

I'll take those odds.

21 minutes https://youtu.be/_jWbqhP5eJI

I watched the last one when it was coming down, then the feed cut out when the engines didn’t light. They are doing pretty good at getting some of them back.

If only I could buy stock in this company.

Scott Douglas 03-03-2021 11:10 AM

This is what you call real rocket science.

Sarc 03-03-2021 11:14 AM

Direct from SpaceX if you want to avoid listening to that annoying dude.

Abort
Better luck next time.

javadog 03-03-2021 11:39 AM

There's been a pause in the festivities. Might go again in a couple hours.

flatbutt 03-03-2021 12:01 PM

What, didn't they the pointy end up and flamey end down?

flatbutt 03-03-2021 12:06 PM

Chat is saying a faulty sensor tripped the auto-abort.

I must confess that I do apprehend some danger. I fear that they may place too implicit a confidence in their public servants, and fail properly to scrutinize their conduct.

He did it. That was awesome. Physics rules.

MysticLlama 03-03-2021 02:28 PM

Super cool. Love watching these live.

MysticLlama 03-03-2021 02:30 PM

...and there goes the chance to go give it a good look.

MysticLlama 03-03-2021 02:30 PM

Bummer.

Listening to the random commentary and blather, one of the guys says it looks like one of the landing legs didn't make it all the way extended. They were already planned for a redesign anyway, but it's too bad they couldn't get the fire tamped down enough to save and inspect it.

flatbutt 03-03-2021 03:37 PM

yeah it was leaning badly but the landing worked.

javadog 03-03-2021 04:11 PM

Every time I see one of those things, it looks like a grain silo with wings. It looks like something that a farmer knocked up in the barn over a long winter.

Just doesn't look like a rocket...
