Local power company’s backhoe slammed into the cel tower and I’ve been two days without internet.
Lord, we had become dependent on it for everything. |
Try no power for 5 days...
|
I lived most of my life with no internet, and no cell phone. Certainly not a smart phone. Now my phone is my brain attachment. It would be nearly impossible to go without it.

Generator for power.
For Internet I don't know. Drive somewhere and use WiFi? |

Went into town and used the connection at work.
But completely blacked out at home. Everyone was standing in their driveways yelling at each other asking “what’s going on?” |
Local power company that was trenching cut the internet line to the whole town of aprox 3,000 people. No cell tower, no hardline.... Went home and realized I'm on a different tower.... was nice. Watched Netflix.... ha

Dish or Directv internet service would work.
Tell them you'll sign up...if they will install today. |

When the power goes out around here the DSL service crashes. I talked to a tech about battery backups and he said no, it will never change for DSL. |
I wish a backhoe would slam into my local cell tower. I'm not kidding. I spend 9-13 hours per day doing my job. I'd rather be gardening, fixing things and reading.

Anyone should time a few consecutives days where they leave it alone.
Do this a few times a year. Healthy. A lot of your brain feed online is currated and trimmed in ways specifically to ruin accurate perception and to drive behavior. Behavior that without the programming would not be present. Make sure you dump any form of "news" during those few days to, same deal. It isn't the news business anymore, it is about manipulation. |
