My dentist suggested I get the Oral B brush because of the staining from coffee on my teeth. She said her other patients love it. I bought one and to my surprise, I love it too. Staining is gone and my teeth are whiter. She sold it to me at a price less that I could find on-line which I did not expect.

^^^ Yesterday, she showed me with a regular brush how the angle for the back of the front teeth just doesn't work. Only the first couple rows of bristles contact the right area. With the round head, the whole works gets in there.
And that's the area that is most susceptible to tartar and plaque build-up.

I brush twice a day with an electric toothbrush. My 3rd electric toothbrush since the first 2 died after years of use.

I don't mind paying for nice things with nice features but come on, it's a toothbrush. I just need one button... on.

^^^ I currently have a sonicare... that's why I started this thread. My hygienist recommended changing to an Oral B..because of the shape of the brush head.

I'm on my 3rd sonicare. Steve, let us know if you switch. I just always thought the sonicare looked like the better design.

We've been using an electric Oral B for probably 7-9 years. Ours was pre-BT. It came with a little timer with an LCD that communicated with the toothbrush. The brush itself also beeps and vibrates at intervals (you can set it to 30 secs or 45 secs, I think, default is 30 secs, IIRC). I think the BT is to replace the little timer. I don't think we've had the timer for ours for at least 6 years. You don't need it and you don't need to use the BT, I wouldn't think.

THere are 4-5 different heads that you can get. I have the small round head, but the missus likes a different one. I like the way it works. If I travel and use a regular toothbrush, I find myself missing the electric one.

Sonicare and Oral B are both similar and both great brushes....But, I like the Oral B more because of the brush head. My front toothline is narrow and the round head fits in behind there perfectly. Angling the handle makes it easy to reach all the pockets. (I had tissue grafting done about 10 years ago.)
The 1500 also has the light for avoiding too much pressure...which is easy for me to do. I also noticed that the Oral B seems to have more rpm's and power than my Sonicare did.

The bluetooth is a gimmick (I feel) for those who have to buy the newest tech. I don't need to study my phone to see how I brushed.

Nice. We like ours (and it's probably almost 10 years old). Ours seems to have the features that yours has. It's good to know that it's still possible to buy one without the extra BS.

2 minutes might be excessive. If you do all of that, do it lightly.

Costco usually has a good deal on a pair of Oral B's and no BT. I think you get 2 motors, 2 chargers and 6 attachments, all the same.

It also has three modes....Dailey Cleaning, Sensitive, Whitening.

Right, soft bristles, don't press too hard, 30 seconds on each "face" (top inside, top outside, bottom inside, bottom outside) which is about 2s per tooth, I believe.

Surely by now the better tooth brushes will have Lane Keeping Assist System so that if you get drowsy doing your bed time brushing the toothbrush won't slip off the teeth onto your gums. Cruise control should be compulsory so that time spent on each tooth is equal.

^^^ Something like a c-pap mask with brushes inside.... that you could drive, or watch tv while it's cleaning your teeth.
