What's been seen, can not be unseen.
Now that I've 'seen' the little mustache in the new Amazon logo I can't not see it...
Is this a case where even bad press is good press? Even the redesign doesn't really fix it... https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-56266514 https://ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/976/cp...142_hitler.png |
Seriously? Some people really go out of their way to find offense or controversy. I’m not referring to you, OP.

Agree!
But I have a hard time thinking this went through all of the people that saw it before it was released, and not one said "Hey, that looks like a little mustache" |
Why is it that when whichever woke person saw that mustache, connected it with Hitler, and not, say Charlie Chaplin?
I think it's ridiculous. It's a frickin' stylized piece of packing tape. We have become a society where we have it so good, we start looking for problems where there are none. |
Plumbing problems ?

Looks better than the phallic symbol beneath the mustache.

I don’t think anyone took offense. We just laughed. Now if it had looked like a dr Seuss character.. |

Gawd...guess I just don't look for symbolism as much as others...

My understanding is that it supposed to be an arrow from A to Z. |

Looking at it sideways, it could be the final pull of a hot waxing.

I am willing to bet that not one of us,knows anyone in real life, that would be offended by hitler moustache packing tape, or pancake syrup .
It's all just stupid **** we gobble up on the internet |
Some people are simply not happy unless they are spreading misery and finding fault.
Unfortunately the internet has given a voice to the toxic. |
I think they had it right to begin with:
"The app logo - which appears on smartphones and tablets - previously showed a graphic of a shopping trolley. The new design appears to be based on a brown Amazon parcel, with the company's signature smile and blue tape. Amazon said: “We designed the new icon to spark anticipation, excitement, and joy when customers start their shopping journey on their phone, just as they do when they see our boxes on their doorstep.”" |
Even after seeing the side by side photos, I don't see it.
We're in a world where people desperately need NAZI's to look down on in order to feel good about themselves in comparision. And the western world has perhaps a couple hundred pro-nazi's to be shared by hundreds of millions. It isn't enough to go around, so the virtue signalers have to start making up more NAZI's. I do not see it going well. |
