Porsche protested Singer ACS new design!

And they've removed all traces of the Singer All-Terrain Competition Study Porsche 911 Safari from their website and Facebook. Their biggest gripe with it is the large “Porsche” lettering.

Porsche said:

We're glad to have a growing community of enthusiasts. However, we have a responsibility to our customers to guarantee our products are clearly and easily identified.
Sources state, "it’s unclear if the design dispute is calling into question the molded Porsche side sills, the Porsche lettering graphics, or both. However, the badging could be another sticking point."

Singer hasn't responded with clarification on this yet, but it seems they've gone back to the drawing board on this one. They'll return with the new design and new photos once completed. What are your thoughts of its design? See more images of it here.

Ah, free advertising for Porsche. Personally I prefer the Maria Sharapova Porsche ad's, but that's just me.

I wonder why.

Porsche must feel it has a better case than Lewis had against Hamilton watches.

That thing is hideous looking. An answer to a question that should never have been asked.
If you want to go off-road in a Porsche, buy a Cayenne.

They can cut the top of the 911 off, and weld on a Mazda pickup cab on there. Call it a Maschup.

Nostril Cheese 03-11-2021 04:26 AM

I think it looks awesome.

Needs more mud though...

Reimagination going wrong

I wonder why (w/o the green font).

The answer lies in who buys these cars? Think of people who live where there is a LOT of sand. And oil. Overseas.

They should ponder whether they will get sued for design plagiary. That thing is neither a Porsche nor a 911.

reachme 03-11-2021 08:51 AM

They took the design to the new VW bug.
No wonder Porsche isn't happy

Not surprised. This is pretty much a new creation and looks modern enough where people may think it comes out of Zuffenhausen. Not smart by Singer to litter it with Porsche scripts, especially the molded pieces. It also may compete with Porsche's offerings or future offerings. Even a maker like Ruf doesn't put Porsche all over their cars, I am sure that's in their contract. Not sure if Singer has any arrangements with Porsche. Probably not.

There is internal politics at play here, some in Porsche love it and fully support the publicity it brings the brand and others that don't

Porsche is now suing Singer:https://www.youtube.com/3d1b21a9-b158-408c-8d74-8a0811ba569b

Will be very interesting to see how this plays out and what credible information becomes publically available.

I think it’s fugly. But what do I know?

Gogar 03-31-2024 12:54 PM

Slap some gaff tape over the logo.
