Window price stickers

In SW FL for vacation and stopped at the Porsche dealer after business
hours to check out the offerings.

Maybe 60 or 70 cars on the lot....not one of them had a window sticker.

Is this a standard practice now?

Std practice for a while. I suggest you take some pictures of the cars you like and then visit the dealership web site for prices and details. Online used car sites like AutoTrader and similar have that covered pretty well. I am in the same situation looking now for a newer used car for the wife. If you are debating between multiple car brands/models the a visit to CarMax is easy. Take what you learn and shop online at your convenience.

^^^ I've been using Carvana for a couple weeks now....I might go that route.

haven't looked at Auto Trader.....but I will.

Jot down VIN of cars you're interested in...then search online?

WPOZZZ 03-12-2021 05:22 PM

No Monroney? I think that is illegal if they are new cars.

I think you are correct!

Yes. New cars are required to have the window sticker. Monroney was an Oklahoma Senator.

My nephew used Carvana to get his Toyota pickup truck. They delivered it to the local Carvana vending machine and he picked it up there. It came from Texas, no charge for shipping.

How are they doing it then?
There were no stickers on any windows of cars on the lot.
Naples Porsche on corner of Davis Blvd and Airport Pulling.

By law, all new vehicles with a GVWR that is less than 8500 lbs must have a Monroney affixed to front or side window.

Well...I would like to be a Fed. sales inspector (or whatever they are called)
I would be happy to make a deal with the dealership ;)

There must be some wiggle room for that. I have been to the local Porsche dealership and the cars they use as demos for potential customers to drive all have the sticker laminated, and on the dash. They move it to the back seats or behind the seat for the drive to not block the view.

You can't safely drive a car with one window blocked.

It would be interesting to hear the real law, and the enforcement of that law.

Viewing Naples Porsche website, which has plenty of pics, I saw one car with a used car sticker on the window and a couple with new window stickers laying on the dash.

Otherwise no traditional ones on the windows.

There has to be wiggle room.

stevej37 03-15-2021 12:15 PM

^^^ granted, it was night-time when I was there...but I talked to two different 'window shoppers' and they both said they were po'd because of no prices.
I couldn't find one in the whole lot with a sticker price.

I believe what has been said about the Marooney bill....but why doesn't it affect this dealer?

asphaltgambler 03-15-2021 01:19 PM

That sticker has to be on the window, plainly displayed before parking in any 'sale' area, inside or outside.

stevej37 03-15-2021 01:35 PM

^^^ Yes..I understand that and believe it.
My question is...how is it that some dealers don't do it???

stevej37 03-15-2021 01:38 PM

Could it possibly be that they are exempt because they moved from a different location about a year ago? They were previously located on the Trail almost downtown Napes.

Glen is correct. Just called them. Liability issues if the sticker were to block the view on a test drive and something bad happened.

Salesperson said as soon as they come off the truck they are removed and laminated and put on the dash and put in the back seat when test driven.

However, I did not see window stickers on the dash on their website pics for those outside.

That's all I got.
