Alibibaba-DH Gate experiences?

Anyone ever order form these companies? Are they legit, do they deliver on time, customer service, etc.?

I can get all the China crap I ever needed from Amazon. Why buy from a Chinese company?

I bought one or two trinkets from AliExpress; shipping took forever, so the company name is misleading. It's the same Chinese made stuff that you get anywhere these days, but somehow they've managed to trim prices even more than even those ebay vendors. So, if you need to save a buck or two on something that you're not concerned about when it gets to you, it might be just what the doctor ordered. Otherwise, get it from Amazon with the 'free' 'two' -day shipping.

Bought some crap from Banggood. Exactly as promised.

The web interface is janky. The confidence is low. I called it an experiment and was pleased.

Looked at cheap-o dirt bikes on Alibaba yesterday. More research is needed but there may be sub $1000 bikes? Not sure about shipping. Some vendors wanted to sell 5 or 10, which sounds like a race series more than an obstacle...

I have a story about Alibaba. Basically, with these small scale companies in or near Ningbo, you have got to have someone over there or you'll get ripped off. I was using a customs broker who had a guy over there and still had to call in the big guns. I got my order (1,000 balloons for a pumpkin patch) and the manufacturer sent them eventually 1 day Air Freight. But we had to threaten to string him up by his balloon sack.

Thanks for the answers so far guys. My wife has a small business and can buy in bulk from them guaranteed forty day delivery and a return policy. Saying it and coming through are two different things.

AliExpress is more oriented for single item purchases.
You can usually find some videos on youtube documenting this sort of stuff... for instance, there are a lot of cheap chinese carbon fiber bicycles and parts out there now. Some is ok, some is so bad it's unsafe.

I've bought a few little things off Aliexpress, haven't had any problems with it.

I tried to buy a Mercedes STAR computer clone from Ali. Initial purchase was fine then the seller told me that shipping prices had gone up and he needed another $50-ish for shipping. Price was still fair so I attempted to pay, at which point the Ali website requested an identity verification including copies of my driver’s license. At that point I said hell no and cancelled everything.

Star drift-bought mine thru Ali, not sure of the procedure then. They're available thru ebay these days. I'm told that the c4's are problematic, so stick with the c3...

I've bought from Banggood. Long delivery, really low prices, varying quality.

I haven’t bought one yet. Primary motivation was to lower my R230 but now I’m selling it. The W212 has been dead reliable for two years now, I haven’t needed anything other than my OBD reader to reset the oil change interval.

For some items, banggood.com has usa warehouses. they have many unique low price items. Their radio control toys and drones selection is awesome.
