New adventure bike

Bought a left over 2019 Africa Twin over the weekend. Test rode at first dealer...they wouldn't negotiate so went to a second dealership. They had a couple still in crates. Picking it up tomorrow afternoon.

Starting to think about what I'll need to make this one perfect.

Cool, looks like fun, if you're into that sort of thing. I'm guessing OR has lots of places to have fun with one of those.

Now you've just got to figure out how to mount a telescope to the back!

Nice! Did you get all the options? You'll need saddlebags and a tank bag, a phone mount or a GPS and heated grips!
Might as well get new riding gear while you're at it!
Now you can take that Alaska-to-Cape Horn trip you've been dreaming about!

Man, I love spending other people's money!

Nice. Great bike. I'm into the ADV thing big time. Talk about a rabbit hole. Getting the bike is just the beginning. ADR rider is a great site for info.

I got no options...Keep it simple Stu! I will add a few things though. Have most of the gear I'll need from other bikes I've had. Main goal is to add lightness. It's a tad over 500 pounds.

Make it perfect? Sell it and buy a KTM !

Seriously, good for you. I've logged a few hours on a Africa Twin and found it both capable and comfortable. Enjoy.

Stay away from the KLIM gear sites. Very bad for the wallet.

Oh nice bike right outa the box!

Manual Brother. Have the Dual clutch in my Porsche and like it but couldn't quite make myself get it on the bike.

Very cool!

My buddy has a 790 and called me yesterday saying I need the 890.... I have plenty of bikes and I think my adventure riding days are over.

Ok, I did some accessorizing. Was hoping to lighten it up but, well, you know.

Engine guards, skid plate, bark busters, gps, fold away mirrors, battery tender, foot pegs, panniers, top case mounts and still to install....new dirt worthy tires, tubeless conversion, center stand and high front fender kit.

Driving home from a hike yesterday afternoon (the first pretty damn nice weekend day of Spring as we break out of our covid stupor) I noticed that about 75% of the motorcycles on the highway are now adventure bikes.
Baggers, Ninja bikes, choppers are definitely the minority.
It looks like a ton of fun!

Be safe, Eric!

My wife has now decided she might like a small dual sport. XT-350 or XL-250. They are hard to find. The big bore bikes are a dime a dozen though.
