Cell Phone Weirdness

During the past few weeks I have been having a very interesting problem with my IPhone 7Plus. The thing has been reliable with no damage.

Everything except the phone works as it should. The phone has gone through some very strange problems. Three weeks ago I was getting strong echos and over speak from outside the call. Network reset took care of that part of the problem.

One issue that also accompanied this recent set of problems was that the phone would dial out, make the connection and then nothing. I can reset the phone, and it will work again, but after a call or two (both incoming and outgoing), the phone reverts to the problem condition.

What is very strange is that this problem goes away when I am away from the house. Phone works perfectly.

I have tried to get AT&T to address this issue, but to no avail.

My question to all of you telecom pros is, what might I be looking at as the basis of the problem? Is it an old battery problem(7 plus is at least 6 years old), could it be a jamb (I have a problem neighbor) or what else? Just need to understand what the issue is before activating a new phone that I ordered.

Any recommended analysis methods or tools that may help me better access the problem?

When you’re away from the house it goes away?

Do you have WiFi calling turned on? If so, try turning it off for a bit at home and see if it goes away...

For any computer or smart phone, first try to shut it down and restart. That fixes a lot of weirdness. See if it is on the latest update for the iOS.

If that does not do it, turn off the WiFi calling as Chris suggested. The iPhone 7 is from 2016. Five years in smart phone years is like 20 years in dog years. It might be time for a newer phone.

I have turned off the WIFI, still manifests the same problem, in the house.

I have reset the phone more times than I can count, have done the network reset twice and a complete phone reset.

The battery health is at 78%. Would a new battery help?

But, I don't want to "chase the problems with parts", but would rather find a way to diagnose the problem, first.

It's the carrier's way of forcing you to buy the latest and greatest. I'm on Verizon with a iPhone 5C which works great most of the time but randomly echoes, drops calls, and sounds like a vixen in heat. I should be getting 4 or 5 bars based on where I live, but I get 2 at best.

Many of the same symptoms I experienced earlier. But none of them occurred when I had the phone in the car or away from home.

I've also experienced the echos and wide swings in volume from people with Apple phones.
