WTF?!

That was why I picked the self-checkout next to her. And then when the associate came to check her ID...I was able to hear the whole conversation.
She needed some consoling.:)

It was O'Douls.....I just googled it and it's .4 ABV.
So that is the answer. I always thought if they advertised NA Beer...it meant none.

Well, it was gone last night. :D

Very tasty.

I don't need Double Two Hearted as I'm a 4.3 percenter for common sense reasons.

However, when I get home all bets are off and I can say I love IPA now. Six months ago, I had to nut up to get through the first two. Now the first one is heaven.

Try the Dogfish Head 60 or 90 minute IPA's. Pretty good beers as well. If you only want 4% alcohol, just drink half and save the other half for later :)

Commodore Perry from Great Lakes is a decent IPA as well.

I was biking in Kazoo last summer and afterwards we went to a bar & grille for lunch and a beer.
They had Bell's Double Two Hearted on tap and I ordered a pint with my sandwich.
The taste is ok...but so strong that you have to sip it.
I got down to about an inch left and quit. I had to drive home...another hour and a half and just didn't feel like I should finish it.

Have tried 60 minute. Will "sample" the 90 minute tonight to test what the increased % does to the taste. They have both at the local Marathon.

To be honest and to roughly coin a term from a movie "Machete don't sample" :D

If I like it, I'll be draggin' tomorrow.

I think you posted a thread on that which got me interested.

I've had the 60 and the 90. I like the 90 a bit better. I think it's a little more balanced with a malty flavor rather than just being hit with hops.

Come to think of it, I might have to brew my 90 minute clone again. That was good beer.

Bob Kontak 04-12-2021 03:10 PM

Sipping on a 90 right now.

cabmandone 04-12-2021 03:19 PM

Nice! I should go into town and grab a 6!

Nostril Cheese 04-12-2021 03:41 PM

I have moved to the 2nd 90 minute. I am definitely picking up the malty flavor. One more and that's it. I can feel the 9%.

So many beers. So little time.

So I'm thinking you might like it huh? It's one of the few IPA's that I really enjoy drinking. And when I make one that is very similar the cost is significantly less. I really need to brew that one again! It's crazy malt heavy (18 lbs of base malt and 1lb of amber malt for 5 gallons) and the 90 minute means 90 minute boil with hop additions every 10 minutes so it's a more time consuming beer to make.

To put that in perspective, the Kolsch I brew uses 18 lbs of base for a 10 gallon batch.

I had four while watching Kong: Skull Island for the first time. I will crawl to bed and be pretty quiet tomorrow. Brie Larson. OMG.

Was kind of close to your crib Friday. 30 west to 71. Then south to Westerville to pick up an axle for a mini van.

Make some brew. We'll talk.

Man, I have to get back into the brewing. I've taken a long pause on it and have to stop being lazy. With warmer temps I should be ramping back up again.

Our local Meijers had these on introductory sale this morning.
$9 for four 16 ouncers. Founders 4 Giants Imperial IPA
Taste is good. A little too strong for me.

I am not a fan of IPAs.

I do love me some German Lager. This is the perfect beer, except it is hard to find, and expensive when it does come in.

cabmandone 04-13-2021 07:27 AM

My brother makes a pretty good Dunkel. I like my Kolsch for a "lawnmower beer".
