Well i'll be damned, air fryer kicks butt on hot dogs too!

Well you can add hot dogs to the list of things the little air fryer cooks better than any other appliance.

So, an air fryer can boil water?

Because...hot dogs are only meant to be steamed, in a tray, over hot water, with buns in the tray next to them. Drag them through the garden, roll them up with some skin on french fries in the butcher paper, and Bob's your uncle.

And no ketchup. EVER.

My friend's wife uses mustard and mayo.

There's nothing wrong with Hot Dogs. Back when I was a single parent I often cooked hot dogs for my kids. After a long work day there often wasn't a lot of time to get a fancy dinner together.

Fresh buns, good Hot Dogs (steamed) plus lots of cheese, bacon, onion and mustard.

Why is it a sin to use ketchup on a hot dog? I like mine with ketchup, mustard, relish and kraut.

Yep, we cook hot dogs in our air fryer all the time. A little mustard, topped with hot dog sauce and shredded cheese and good to go!!! My wife and daughter like the Beyond Meat brats and those are cooked in the air fryer as well.

Ketchup might be wrong (I never have), but mayo on a hotdog is WRONG

There are probably threads, but can someone suggest an air fryer for simple stuff.... Doesn have to be fancy.

Oh yeah ... I have never liked boiled/steamed dawgs .... Fried or on a grill for me .... Aunt Bob approves

Hot dogs in the jersey Italian style are best when fried in cast iron.

My home town had a Jewish deli that served hot dogs with toppings such as potato salad or baked beans. So good.

This is mine....a combo toaster, broiler, and air fryer.
Black and Decker from Walmart. I think it was around $50

And of course, no matter how you do them, must use these.

Ours is the inexpensive teardrop shape. What i like is the basket, though smallish, is removed easily for loading and cleaning.

I don't see the appeal.... I've tried 'em a few times, not bad, but other quality all beef dawgs work for me too. I like my dawgs fried in a pan or grilled, practically black/burned .... do the air fryers do that? And a pan is easy to clean.... mebbbe it ain't broke after all ?

Woof!

Hot dogs are one of those things that you eat almost anyway that you can imagine and they are still tasty. ketchup, mustard, chipotle mayo, kraut, relish, chili, cheese, whatever.

I've had several of these, and they were all tasty.
